Inside Story - Obama's Middle East policy - Nov 10 - Part 1
America's drive to conclude a Middle East peace deal before President George Bush leaves office in January was always going to be wildly over-optimistic but Barack Obama is likely to set an equally pressing deadline to finish the job.
Barack Obama says he'll reshape US foreign policy with particular emphasis on the Middle East. He promises to put the Israeli-Palestinian conflict back on the American agenda. He blames the Bush administration for having neglected the issue. But is his position really that different? And is he free to change foreign policy?

Peace, Propaganda & The Promised Land {Part 1}
Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land provides a striking comparison of U.S. and international media coverage of the crisis in the Middle ... all » East, zeroing in on how structural distortions in U.S. coverage have reinforced false perceptions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This pivotal documentary exposes how the foreign policy interests of American political elites--oil, and a need to have a secure military base in the region, among others--work in combination with Israeli public relations strategies to exercise a powerful influence over how news from the region is reported. Through the voices of scholars, media critics, peace activists, religious figures, and Middle East experts, Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land carefully analyzes and explains how--through the use of...

He said that Tel Aviv and the U.S. fleet in the Persian Gulf would be the targets that would be set on fire in Iran's crushing response.

Live Export & Animals Australia's Middle East Investigations
Over the past 30 years Australia has exported over 150 million animals to the Middle East for slaughter, where there is no legal protection from animal cruelty. Animals Australia's five investigations in the region have consistently shown, that despite industry claims of 'improvements' in animal welfare, the cruel handling, transport and slaughter of millions of Australian Animals is widespread and routine.
This ten minute documentary takes us to seven different Middle Eastern countries and reveals the brutal truth behind live animal export.
Please help us to end this trade in misery. Visit http://www.AnimalsAustralia.org

The Tallest Building in the World - Burj Dubai! Middle East
I went to the Burj Dubai and filmed the construction and then again six months later.
66 to 124 floors in six months!
The Burj Dubai tower is designed to be the centerpiece of a large-scale, mixed-use development that will include 30,000 homes, nine hotels, 6 acres of parkland, 19+ residential towers, the Dubai Mall, and a large man-made lake. The complete 500 acre development will cost about $20 billion dollars (US). Once completed, the tower will cover a total of over 22 million square feet of development.
The official height of the Burj Dubai is kept secret because of international competition, but current estimates have it rising to a height in excess of 2,600 feet. Some estimate that it will be 189 floors or so - it is to be the tallest building in the world.
Recently, the...

Fresh Strategies for Stability?
The broader Middle East region is facing a complex landscape of insecurity in 2008, where any one of a number of linked issues could trigger a major conflict. In addition to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Iran are enduring epicentres of concern. The upcoming US elections may give rise to fresh strategies to secure stability in the region.
What are the key ingredients of any revised strategy to secure peace in the region in 2008 and beyond?
