Ecuador Turns Left

Posted by Matt in January 16th, 2007

Quito, Jan 16 (Prensa Latina) Rafael Correa s inauguration in Ecuador shows on Tuesday a left turn in this Andean country, affected by a decade of decreasing stability, destitution and overthrow of three presidents.

His integrationist proposals challenge world financial organizations and prioritize human beings over capital, making evident his progressive lean, common in todays Latin America.

George Patton, America 's greatest general!
Fine young Americans, as a European, I am concerned about the role your great nation is playing in the world today. But I have an enormous respect for the American Army in World War II, for the GI 's that fought and died to liberate Europe. I think I have read every book that deals with the American Army during Word War II. I saw the movie 'The last days of Patton', about the famous American General George S. Patton (1885-1945) in World War II. It 's about the last months of his life before he was killed in a car accident in december 1945. This is a crucial scene, in which Patton is relieved of his command by his boss (and former friend) Eisenhower. I think the two characters are very well casted. They resemble very well the pictures of the real Eisenhower and Patton I know. Also the...
