Rethinking Nuclear Power in the United States
The rush to break the oil habit has re-ignited the debate over nuclear energy, which now supplies one-fifth of our country's power as opposed to France where four-fifths of the entire countries power is supplied by Nuclear energy.
With oil reaching nearly $100 a barrel, and the United States foreign dependence on oil, going Nuclear may possibly be a fix for us. Though many believe it to be dangerous and dirty, it is actually one of the cleanest, most efficient, and independent forms of energy when done correctly.

France Relies on Nuclear Power - VOA Story
Rising oil prices, the volatility of supplies, and need for alternative energy sources that will not add to climate change and global warming - these are issues increasingly in the public limelight, hotly debated at international conferences and gatherings. While many countries are seeking to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels, France has already done so by turning to a very controversial source of energy - nuclear power.
Energy independence was a crucial factor in the decision by French political leaders to embark on an ambitious nuclear energy program back in 1973, during the Middle East oil embargo. France now has 58 nuclear power plants and derives nearly 80 percent of its electricity from them. All of the plants are operated by the national electricity company, EDF.

China's Involvement in Iran Nuclear Crisis
China's Involvement in Iran Nuclear Crisis
Israeli expert analyses China's involvement in the Iranian nuclear crisis
Last week, Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Iran now has 3,000 centrifuges for enriching uranium, an announcement that once again put the Iranian nuclear issue back in world media headlines. The U.S. and many other Western nations are threatening economic sanctions to pressure Iran to stop its nuclear program. But despite this, there are two big nations that want to take a more lenient approach. Our Israeli team has more.
Although the UN Security Council ordered Iran to suspend its uranium enrichment activity, Iran still has important political allies. These allies are opposing the international community's call for sanctions.

GOT BOMB nuclear awareness PSA
ProjectForNuclearAwareness.com
PierreTerre.com
BunkerFilms.com
22 million kids could get a free school lunch with the money spent on nukes each year.
1.2 million students could get a free 4 year college education with the money spent yearly on the Iraq and Afghanistan war.
200 million prescriptions could be given to seniors with the money subsidizing oil companies.
186 thousand new jobs would be created if we replace oil with green energy.
The US government wants to spend $150 billion dollars to replace their current nuclear weapons. That's $1,300 out of every taxpayers pocket.

Big Oil Fuels John McCain's Straight Talk Express
http://therealmccain.com/oil
Gas prices are hitting all-time highs. Our country is in the midst of a recession thanks in part to our crippling dependence on oil, so what's John McCain's plan? Will he hold the corporate leaders of the energy industry accountable when he addresses them today in Houston? Probably not, considering they are some of his biggest fund-raisers.
The Center for Responsive Politics finds that McCain has accepted over $1 million from the oil and gas industry. Many of McCain's top advisers have lobbied for big oil, which is why he now acts in their best interests, opposing environmental legislation and alternative energy plans. And that's exactly why we want everyone to know The REAL McCain.
McCain is desperate to distance himself from President Bush. But...
