The military conflict between Georgia and Russia this past August has raisedfears in Scandinavia. In Sweden, and Finland too, many are asking whether they should now become members of NATO. However, even after the conflict in the Caucasus, the majority of Finns still don't want to join the military alliance. Many are worried about how the Russians would react. Estonian Military Power [Sampolit Film]
The Estonian armed forces with its weapons and equipment on military exercises and man oeuvres. Not all video clips are filmed in Estonia. During the video creation we carefully checked every weapon type and also made the list which types and units Estonia has. Therefore some clips may not be 100% accurate but the idea remains the same. We have similar weapon systems as shown in the borrowed clips.
This video shows the armed forces on the year of 2007. The Estonian Defensive Forces had to rebuilt from the beginning due to the Soviet occupation. With 16 years the Estonian Military has made through a huge development.
