exploitation and morality 1 of 2
Q. Are all capitalists bad people?
A. some are, some aren't but they all have to exploit workers in order to make a profit. Class and exploitation are objective concepts. They are meant to explain social phenomena. They also imply a strong moral critique of capitalism in general- as a whole. They are not concepts that are meant to explain the personalities or moral character of individuals. Capitalists are compelled by necessity to exploit workers. They have no choice in this issue. Do we blame them or do we blame the system? Often particularly blatant acts of individual exploitation do seem worthy of individual condemnation- we might condemn the GAP for exploiting little girls in Saipan, or WalMart for not paying its workers a living wage- but these individual condemnations have to be...

Sylvère Lotringer - Hatred of Capitalism part 1
Chicago Public Radio, 28/03/2008
Some would argue that some form of capitalism has been with humanity from the very beginning Chiacago Public Radio, 28/03/2008
Some would argue that some form of capitalism has been with humanity from the very beginning. But especially, over the last couple of centuries, political scientists, sociologists, economists and even clergy have grappled to understand what capitalism is — and what should be its purpose in our everyday lives.
To wrap up our Critical Thinking on Capitalism series we thought we'd give a philosopher a crack at it.
Sylvère Lotringer is Professor of French Literature and Philosophy at Columbia University and he's Founder and General Editor of the Publishing House Semiotext(e), which is widely credited for introducing the...

Corporate Coup in the U.S.
Scene from the 2003 documentary, The Corporation, about an attempted coup by industrialists (corporations) to overthrow president Franklin D. Roosevelt and the US Government during the 1930's.
Major General of the Marine Corps, Smedley Butler, was to lead the coup. Smedley, tired of being what he felt was a gangster for capitalism, balked and reported his findings to Congress.
NOTE: Smedley Butler is author of "War is a Racket"

Comrade General Fast Shooting
A response to "monprophet113"'s recent video (to be clear that I myself DID NOT make the one where Comrade General shoots capitalists). Echelon's song (the background music) gets louder and faster as it progresses, and Comrade General shoots extremely fast in the last part of this song.

Socialism in Malaysia?
Malaysiakini conducted a brief interview with PSM Secretary General S Arutchelvan shortly before it was denied entry into the Dataran Merdekaperimeter by police.
According to S Arutchelvan socialism is still a viable alternative to that of capitalism as capitalism has brought a lot of the world's problems today.
He also gives his opinions on Social Democracy as adopted in Scandinavian countries. He then explains a little about the condition of marginalised people's groups in the country.

People are by nature self-interested, and creating real change is not easy. Despite this, believing that a better society is possible if we are willing to do what it takes to create it is in no way mere wide-eyed idealism. Self-interested or not, people can learn to meet their own needs in compassionate ways, and even to value compassion so much that some of their own needs are met just by helping others. Further, life is not a game where some people win and everyone else loses. Cooperative effort can result in a scenario where...

1/6 Michael Moore and Mitt Romney on auto-industry bailout 11/19/08 http://tinyurl.com/6r7evm
http://tinyurl.com/6r7evm http://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/comments/7efdu/screw_the_big_3_lets_give_tesla_motors_25_billion/
Michael Moore is in favor of a bailout for the auto industry but only with a lot of conditions. In a Wednesday interview, Moore told Larry King that the Big 3 car companies should face mandates to build mass transportation and automobiles that use little or no gas. Also, Moore wants to see a whole new management team.
Moore thinks that the United Autoworkers Union (UAW) has taken enough cuts in their pay and benefits. The UAW has — has given back so much to General Motors and the other companies. Im stunned, actually, at how much theyve given back. I think theyve given too much back, frankly, he said.
The future looks bleak for the current financial system,...
