Pakistan successfully test-fires new version of long-range nuclear-capable missile

(Islamabad, Pakistan-AP) February 23, 2007 - Pakistan says it has successfully test-fired a new version of its long-range ballistic missile.

The Shaheen Two was launched Friday from an undisclosed location. It has a range of 1,245 miles, giving it the capability to hit major cities in neighboring India.

In a statement, Pakistan’s military says the missile “can carry nuclear and conventional warheads with high accuracy.”
