Climate action camp in Hamburg (germany) 15. - 24. August 08
The climate camp will be a place for us to educate ourselves, and to talk about different relationships between society and nature. The point is to develop positions and strategies of and for an emerging climate movement. If we want to really cushion climate change, decisive action is needed. By organising this camp, we're beginning to look for ways to resist the CO2-economy and the general climate of social repression -- also in our everyday lives -- including small and large disobedient actions. This climate camp is one of many, and is connected to camps and processes in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Great Britain and Sweden. The climate camp will be taking place together with an antiracist action camp. http://www.gegenstrom08.net

1-Evo Morales speech at the UN General Assembly Sept 23, 2008
Privatization policies responsible for current financial crisis, Bolivia tells UN 24 September 2008 The current worldwide financial crisis has been caused largely by policies of privatization of basic public resources, Bolivian President Evo Morales Ayma has told the General Assemblys annual high-level debate. Speaking last night before world leaders at UN Headquarters in New York, Mr. Morales said the annual debate was taking place at a time of rebellion by peoples against the existing economic order. This is a rebellion against misery and poverty; against the effects of climate change; a rebellion against the privatization policies which is what has caused the financial crisis, he said. Mr. Morales, who became President of the Andean country in early 2006, said many social movements...
