DAMASCUS: Syrian Vice-President Farouqal-Shara downplayed prospects for peace with Israel on Thursday, saying there was a lack of crucial US backing.
“We are not optimistic. The American president does not want peace between Israel and Syria,†Shara told journalists at his office in the Syrian capital.
“Ehud Olmert is not serious about peace either. Israel will make peace if we compromise on regaining the whole of our occupied territory. We won’t,†he said.

India Terror Attacks Israel - Rabbi Holtzberg Chabad Jerusalem Funeral Born in Israel, Rabbi Gavriel Noach Holtzberg, 29, moved to the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, New York with his parents when he was nine.
