Found the article a little bit funny and also polemic.
EU is not dominated by Germany alone - UK and especially France have huge influences there.
The working language of the EU is French and English - German is harldy imported there.
Europe has to struggle not to go under.
regarding European/german - Russian relations - I see Russia as a possible partner - as Russia has its own fights with Islamists and Russia also fears a rise of China - as it has around 6 million illegal Chinese living in hardly populated Siberia and the Chinese had already claimed in the past half of Siberia from the Sovjets.
It’s more likely that European/US Troops will fight together with the Russians against the Choinese in Siberia than any other possible constellation of Allies.
