Warning from China spurs U.S. entrepreneurs in space race

Posted by Matt in November 14th, 2007

When China successfully shot down one of its own satellites in January, efforts in the United States to develop and launch more and less-expensive rockets received an unexpected push, and not just from the giant aerospace corporations.

Small, entrepreneurial companies are at the forefront of the race to move ahead in space, an undertaking seen as crucial for keeping the United States at the forefront as Russia, Europe and, increasingly, China become more technologically adept.

Early U.S. rocket and space launch failures and explosion
Rocket launching in the early days was, quit literally, a "hit-or-miss" affair. This 10 minute music video shows some of our early rocket failure, and a few successful launches, set to the music of Pomp And Circumstance. Thanks to www.spacearium.com

Space Race With China?
Before China carried out an anti-satellite test in January 2007, some U.S. policy-makers, including NASA Administrator Michael Griffin and the U.S. House China Working Group, advocated greater cooperation between the United States and China in space. After the test, which created a massive cloud of space debris that angered international space professionals and alarmed the American public, increased references to U.S.-China competition and hints of a new space race drowned out calls for cooperation. Using the experience they gained from visiting China several times in the last eight months, analysts Jeffrey Lewis and Gregory Kulacki will evaluate the costs and benefits of cooperation and competition between the United States and China in light of the history of Chinese interest in ASAT...

$250,000 Question about Office Space
Jeff Jones from Texas makes Mike Judge proud. Look at his reaction when he sees the question, it's hilarious. And he's wearing a WALLY WORLD shirt. He's a hero to us all. This is the equivalent of me getting a question about "Tommy Boy". My reaction would probably be very similar. I don't have cables to hook up my DVR to the computer, so I had to film it with a camera.

Barack Obama - Yes I Can Make Us Defenseless—Just Like Dec 7, 1941
Liberals, click "more info." America has always been attacked when she was perceived as being week. That is what will happen without a strong military. For you liberals who think Obama sounds so good, and for you conservatives who want a good laugh, I'll break down Obama's foreign policy in layman's terms: 1) I'll stop spending $9 billion a month in Iraq. Does that mean he'll spend $8 billion a month in Iraq or none at all? 2) I opposed the Iraq War from the beginning; you know when I was a state Senator, back in Illinois. 3) I'll cut the "unproven missile defense system." You know, that missle defense system that has repeatedly shot down missiles and that same missile defense system that the Europeans and the Israelis want. Yeah that one! 4) I'll allow China and Russia to put their...

HIGH TECH SPACE WEAPONS IN USE: BOB FITRAKIS (pt.2)
'High tech space weapons are in use. The U.S. and Israeli military are lying about them. They're well established in the public record.' Video shows the Mobile Tactical High Energy Laser (THEL)& the mobile version (MTEL). Lasers have been weaponized since 1971, at least. See Col. Doug Beason's glorification of ABL (airborn lasers), ADS (active denial systems), RME (relay mirrors) and SSL (solid state lasers) in his book The Electron Bomb: How America's New Directed Energy Weapons Will Change the Way Future Wars Will Be Fought (2005). Vid calls attention to the prize-winning documentary Panama Deception. The GHW Bush invasion of Panama in Dec 1989 was used as a testing ground for laser-maser-crazer weapons. Prof. Fitrakis spoke at the Madison 9/11 conference hosted by Prof. Jim Fetzer, Aug...

War from Space
A report on events organized by the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space during the World Peace Forum held in Vancouver, Canada in late June, 2006. Many of the presentations feature graphic illustrations that give insight into the aerospace industry, how space technology will be used to give the U.S. "control and domination" of the heavens, examples of what roles particular bases have in the Star Wars scheme, and some illustrations of local resistance. A high-quality DVD version is available from space4peace.org for broadcast on cable access TV stations in your community and private purchase ($13 includes shipping/handling; $15 if ordering from outside the U.S.).

July 4th Space Shuttle Discovery Launch and UFO
I filmed the Space shuttle Discovery launching from Cape Canaveral on July 4, 2006. The launch was good, but then I noticed a black dot hovering below where the shuttle went up, and I turned my camera back on. It was a round black dot that hovered, changed direction, lowered quickly, and moved in and out of the clouds. The logical explanations for this UFO don't work out for me. Could it be from space, watching us humans go into space?

What Lies Beyond Our Own Space-Time Continuum Video
Mystery of Time - Time Lapse & Stop Motion Photography Video. The ideas of Time & Space are explored. Scientists use a "time microscope" or a camera running at 3000 frames per second to help explain time. This film is worth it just for the fact that they film drops of milk splashing in slow motion and put dramatic music over it. 27 Minutes. Gives a glimpse of what lies beyond our own space-time continuum. The elemental concepts of the theory of relativity are demonstrated. A science film about time and space. The marvels of science provide the visible evidence of a Divine plan of creation. Production Company: Moody Institute of Science. Creative Commons license: Public Domain

The Space Elevator
The Space Elevator will reduce the cost of getting from earth to space. It will also allow us to take very large payloads into space very easily, very safely. Because of that, we can build cities on the moon. We can build space stations. We can build large solar arrays in space to collect energy from the sun and beam it down to earth. How would space elevator affect the average person? Through for example much faster telecommunication rates -- you can have any kind of data rates you want, and videophones will be as common as a cell phone. And the solar power energy we'll collect can relieve our dependence on oil. That in itself will change a lot of things it will reduce pollution and it will change world politics, hopefully even stopping some of the conflicts.

Inner Space of Shiva
From the works of Living Enlightened Master Paramahamsa Nithyananda. In this sutra, Shiva is trying to give us a technique to reproduce the inner space of Shiva. Swamiji tells us that it is our freedom to look at everything as auspicious. WHen we do this, we live like a God on planet earth. This clip is taken from discourse titled, "Move towards Love" which may be ordered online at www.lifeblissgalleria. com.

LPC and Mr Wiggles at Club Space in Philadelphia
This video right here was filmed at club Space in Philadelphia. Mr Wiggels was in town do a variety show with a few other performers so we went to see the show then invited him to come chill back at our club. Club Space was my crews home we never paied and came and went as we pleased. The DJ playing during this clip was our crew DJ, IMRI. We just started getting into funk styles so having WIGGS come chill was big deal to us. He was mad cool and took time out to show us alot of stuff and put on the right direction when it came to representing the funk styles correctly. Peace Eric
