Iranian Missiles Capable of Hitting Israel and US Bases
Nine long and medium-range missiles have been tested by Iran, including one which it has previously said could travel as far as Israel and U.S. bases in the region.
The tests occurred at a time of increased tension between Iran and Israel over Tehran's disputed nuclear programme, which the West fears is aimed at making bombs. Iran says its nuclear programme is only for power generation.
State Press TV said the missiles tested by Iran's Revolutionary Guards included the 'Shahab 3' missile, which officials have said could reach targets 2,000 km (1,250 miles) away.
In response, a U.S. White House spokesman said Iran should "refrain from further missile tests if they truly seek to gain the trust of the world".

Iranian Shahab 3B Missile test fire
The Iranian Shahab-3 [alternatively designated Zelzal (Earthquake)] missile is said to be a derivative of the 1,000-1,300 kilometer range North Korean Nodong-1. The Nodong missile was developed by North Korea with Iranian financial assistance. Around one year ago Iran claimed for the first time to have developed and produced a laser gyroscope INS system coupled with GPS as backup. With that guidance system, the Shahab-3B could archive an accuracy of around 30-50m CEP or even less. This new improved accuracy was apparently the reason why the warhead weight has been significantly decreased - to suggested 500kg. This, namely, is sufficient for pin-point target attack capability. Iran Warns If Attacked It Will Fire 11,000 Missiles
Iran warned over the weekend that if attacked it is capable of firing 11,000 missiles at enemy bases within a minute of the attack. Iranian general in the Revolutionary Guards Mahmoud Chaharbaghi warned that Iran is capable of targeting the bases of US forces in Afghanistan and Iraq and has them under close surveillance.
