Iran has developed its first intermediate-range solid-fuel ballistic missile.
Israeli intelligence sources said Iran has developed a solid-fuel missile with a range of 2,000 kilometers.
The intelligence sources said Iran acquired solid-fuel technology from China. In 2002, Iran developed the Fateh-110 single-stage solid-propellant, surface-to-surface missile with a range of 200 kilometers.

New leap in Iran's missile technology
Iran successfully tested the missile recently, which burns a combination of solid and liquid fuels and has a range of 2,000 kilometers.
"This is a whole new missile," Uzi Rubin, former director of Israel's Ballistic Missile Defense Organization, told Jane's military intelligence website.
"Unlike other Iranian missiles, Sajjil bears no resemblance to any North Korean, Russian, Chinese or Pakistani [missile technology]. It demonstrates a significant leap in Iran's missile capabilities, he added.
"Regardless of the success of the test, this missile places Iran in the realm of multiple-stage missiles, which means that they are on the way to having intercontinental ballistic missile capabilities," Rubin noted.
Iran has said that its missile capability is of a defensive nature.

"Kwangmyongsong No. 1" revolves round earth
Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- The first artificial satellite of the DPRK launched at Musudan-ri, Hwadae county, North Hamgyong Province, on August 31 is now revolving round the earth. The multi-stage carrier rocket and satellite launched by Korean scientists and technicians were developed with local strength, wisdom and technology 100 percent. Today's edition of Rodong Sinmun carries an interview with scientists and technicians involved in the satellite launch and a sketch map of the carrier rocket launching test. The first and second rocket stages are made up of liquid rocket engines and the third stage an engine with highly efficient solid fuel. AGM-65 Maverick Shoot
The AGM-65 Maverick is an air-to-ground tactical missile (AGM) designed for close air support. It is effective against a wide range of tactical targets, including armor, air defenses, ships, ground transportation, and fuel storage facilities.
The AGM-65F (infrared targeting) used by the U.S. Navy has an infrared guidance system optimized for ship tracking and a larger penetrating warhead than the shaped charge used by the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force (300 pounds (136 kg) vs. 125 pounds (57 kg)). The infrared TV camera enables the pilot to lock onto targets through light fog where the conventional TV seeker's view would be just as limited as the pilot's. The AGM-65 has two types of warheads; one has a contact fuze in the nose, and the other has a heavyweight warhead with a...
