Why Vote? A response to the "5 Friends" Ad
NOTE: I posted more or less this same talk as a "riff," but I think the length and excessively off-topic first few minutes of that video, as a riff, probably work against it in the general population of viewers on youtube. So this is one I'm posting to get straight to the point and to maybe be a little clearer. If you have watched both and are reading this after the fact, I'm sorry.
On voting in the presidential elections, MTV and numerous other interest groups unanimously give American youth and young adults the same message: "Do it."
In school we are raised to consider it both a right and a privilege as law-abiding free citizens. Socially, abstinence from the process as seen as a sign of either irresponsibility, apathy, laziness, or even ignorance.

While not strictly a part of the ad campaign, Hodgman and Long appeared in a video prior to the keynote at the 2006 Worldwide Developers Conference. Hodgman's character, PC, claimed to have a message from Steve Jobs, in an attempt to stall Mac development. He starts to go off-topic about his vacation with Steve, but when Mac arrives he says he's just preparing for the next ad and starts to sing the Meow Mix theme song off-key.

Riding down on a 2005 Schindler escalator at the Nordstrom wing, and riding up on a 2005 Schindler elevator (which goes to Mall Floor 2 or the rooftop AMC movie theater; it's near the on-site park) at the NorthPark expansion in Dallas, Texas. This expansion not only added a food court to this mall (finally), but also a new movie theater, and in the middle, an open-air grass park called CenterPark!
