I'm revisiting this article again since I just made an amazing discovery on www.antiwar.com ..
The article (everyone should check this out) by Richard Silverstein "Israel's Teheran Connection" is an enormous eye opener. Incredible reading Folks!!!
What is going on is that Israel is buying Iranian Oil after it is shipped to Rotterdam in Holland.(in violation of its own boycott) It is then reshipped back to the refineries in Haifa. Israel prefers Iranian oil because it is better than other crude oils.
This oil is being purchased by an Israeli company..Eilat Ashkelon Pipeline Co. (EAPC).
After all the hell raised about the Swiss Foreign Minister concluding a gas purchase from Iran that so infuriated everyone in the US State Dept. and the Government of Israel one must ask WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON?
To quote from this article..."If Israel doesn't honor its self described boycott of Iran why should the rest of the World honor its boycott of Hamas and Gaza"????
Certainly Israel is in violation of US Congressional law regarding trading with Iran.
The US is probably in violation of its own laws here too since some US firms are certainly buying Iranian oil out of Rotterdam also...with US government knowledge. talk about hypocracy.

((But in truth here it should be none of the US Governments business who does or does not trade with Iran))
So you see folks...sometime necessity gets in the way of nonsensical laws. Israel needs oil like every other country so it should be open and honest about it. Attacking Switzerland for buying gas from Iran was the absolute height of hypocricy. If the US and Israel cannot live with the rules they advocate for others they should keep their damn mouths shut. The Swiss government should tell the Bush administration and Israel "UP YOURS" or better yet "KISS OUR A***"

Hi JL,

Glad you like the site.

I'm a Republican, but I'm not real happy with with party these days. President Bush doesn't thrill me either.

I'm trying to find out what's going too. I guess I'm addicted to this kind of news.

Hi Matt

Yea,,,Matt I guess I am a news junkie. Trying to find out what is REALLY going on in the World has become an obsession with me.
I cannot stand the Bush Administration even though I voted for Bush in 2000. What a mistake. This is the most corrupt and dishonest and at the same time most incompetent administration in American history. Everything it does is done either wrong or for the wrong reason. This administration seems to think it has a right to tell other sovereign countries how to run their own affairs. Even after they have made such a disastrous mess of this country. We are bogged down in two wars and the economy is going into the tank....we just have to get rid of these idiots. I therefore want to see the Republican party stomped out of existence in November..I'm a former Republican too.

I really love this site you run. It is wonderful to be able to vent on many of these issues. Thanks so much for having a site like this.

I am revisiting this article since I just read another article on Antiwar.com wherein the US government has demanded that the Swiss Government let the US see the contract between it and Iran regarding the purchase of Iranian gas.
Where in the HELL does the George Bush (idiot in chief) administration get the right to demand anything of a sovereign government and its purchases of gas from another sovereign government. So far the Swiss have not produced the contract and they never should produce it.
They should tell the Bushies to "go to hell".

Oxi
I could not agree more. The people running the US Government sound like they have taken complete leave of their senses. We are in deep Doo Doo now with the mess this Administration has made of things. I swear it sometime seems like they are intent on starting WWIII.
Madness is taking over!

Let's not forget the U.S. supported a military dictatorship over Greece in the late 60's and early 70's over democracy!

Bush has just recently announced he is ready to send weapons to Kosovo to arm the Albanians. Arming former terrorists to finish the job on the few remaining Serbs in the north will lead to the Serbs arming the north.

NATO used excessive force to quell a recent protest, what do you think Albanians with U.S. weapons would do in that situation? The U.S. has lost touch with reality and are making some stupid foreign policy mistakes that will lead to world war 3.

Serbia and Russia's patience has to be wearing thin with moves by the U.S. like this. I can bet plans on smuggling weapons into northern Kosovo are in the works as well as deployment of Russian ground troops to the region. This will get ugly soon.

This is just yet another example of U.S. arrogance around the world, arming former terrorists.

To drsanto

I scare you??? You should be frightened to death with that brainless half wit running this country. You mentioned the overthrow of the Shah...Do you know any history of Iran? Did you know that in 1953 the CIA engineered the overthrow of the truly "democratically elected government of Iran...Dr. Mossedeigh...who was the elected leader" and placed the brutal Shah on the throne of Iran. He was a ruthless tyrant and it took until 1979 for the Iranians to get rid of him. He brutalized Iran and handed its oil interests over to the West..mainly British Petroleum..the reason for the overthrow. If the Iranians consider the US the "great Satan" perhaps it's because they have plenty of reason. Do some research on the history of the Middle East...there you will find out that much of the trouble we are having now is due to our own behavior. It's called "blowback".
The Iranians are not insane anyway...they are a extremely intelligent people...they're the seat of the Great Persian Empire..Iran is not a nuclear threat to anyone...I'll tell you what the real threat from Iran is..It is their new Bourse (oil trading commodities market)..where they do NOT TAKE DOLLARS..it's based on the EURO. Now you might realize that is partly why the dollar is tanking..That is Iran's real threat. It is an enormous threat to our currency. As for Iranian nukes, that's nonsense. As soon as Saddam Hussein switched from DOLLARS to EUROs the US invaded.
I suggest you google in "Iran Bourse" and do some research on this.
Meantime Bush is one of the most incompetent dishonest and therefore dangerous people on this planet..I voted for him in 2000..What a dreadful mistake I made. He is also a lying coward who sat out his own chance to serve in combat. While other men were becoming heroes he was becoming an alcoholic. Good riddance to him.

Like the U.S. opinion should matter when they buy fuel from Venezuela and they bought oil from Saddam's Iraq!

Understand how the UN works, The UN does not have an army, they do not have land and citizens to collect taxes from to enforce rules, etc... they rely on member states to provide this all for them.

Simply blaming the UN is ignorant when in all reality you have to blame the international community, all of those nations that have signed up to the UN Charter. That includes the United States!

The United States deserves as much blame about the failures of the UN as with other nations.

And Bush should be critisized for being selective with the UN. One day he will support the UN and the next ignore them with Iraq and Kosovo. You cannot be selective, either you follow the rules or you don't.

We need to either shi* or get off the pot...

It is unreasonable to ask the other countries not to do business with Iran if we're not serious about stopping them from acquiring nuclear weapons.

The "United Nations" is a joke~ it's completely politicized. China has more than $150,000,000,000 in energy deals with Iran. They're never going to authorize military action which would jeapordize those contracts.

Same with others; is there any doubt that Switzerland will now oppose sanctions against Iran? If we do nothing, then we should not be surprised if, say for example, India decides to build the pipeline with Iran.

I say we need to shi*!

If our troops in Iraq attack Iran, the worry about the Iranians overtaking Iraq won't be a concern anymore. The Iraqi's will then be free to rebuild their country without the threat of Iranian interference.

JLRichardson~ people like you scare me...

Your hatred for Bush is so great that you ignore the real risk; a nation of self-proclaimed martyrs gaining access to~ and marrying together~ nuclear weapons and advanced missile technology.

Long before Bush was in office, the leadership of Iran called the United States "The Great Satan" and has continued to do so since they overthrew the Shah in 1979.

The danger to the United States and its allies is as great now as it has ever been. Althewhile, the left is playing politics.

"They have eyes to see, but cannot see and ears to hear, but cannot hear" comes to mind...

So! the Bush Administration is upset with Switzerland for planning to buy gas from Iran. Forgetting for the moment that Iran and Russia just happen to be sitting on the two largest sources of natural gas on Earth just where does the half wit in the White House think other countries are going to get their gas supplies. Bush might not like it but just what can he do to supply Switzerland with its gas needs? Perhaps a lot of gas and hot air from Rush Limbaugh!
No wonder other countries are tuning out this idiot in the White House. Just look at the mess we are in after two terms with this joke. Can anyone blame other countries for not listening to him.
