Communist China has tried mightily to put on a friendly face for the upcoming 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. But with China’s thuggish military occupation of Tibet on display to the world, the regime in Beijing is showing its true colors.
Tibetans being killed in the streets by Chinese security forces, while bad enough on its own, also serves as a grim indicator of what could in store for Taiwan should the island nation ever be “re-unified” with China.

Team USA Basketball assembled for a minicamp workout this past weekend at the campus of UNLV in Las Vegas. The goal for this year's team is the Gold Medal and anything short of it will be a major disappointment. Many of the players and coaches from Team USA gave a 3-year commitment to their national team so one can understand the importance of this trip to Beijing for Olympic competition. The 12-member squad has already been announced and is headed by Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Dwayne Wade.
