In April 2007, Max Keiser traveled to Iceland to find out just how was it that a nation of 300,000 could buy so much of the High Street in Britain. Max found wild levels of global debt and speculation were finding its way into Iceland via the carry trade.
In this clip, Max asks the chief economist of the formerly second largest bank in Iceland - before it was nationalized in September/October 2008.
Now the people of Iceland are protesting the collapse of their economy and currency.

Government officials endorsed a company that got people to buy boxes of insects to rear at home, for a promised 30% return. The ants were ingredients in health products including a version of Viagra.
Protests by angry investors, most of whom lost their life savings, were crushed. But some victims are theatening to disrupt this summer's Olympic Games.

Today is National End The Fed day, and a number of U.S. citizens concerned with the countrys fiscal policy have gathered in 39 cities nationwide at each Federal Reserve building saying that they are sick and tired of being robbed.
What bothers me about the Fed - theyre so secretive about how the monetary policy is done. They just keep on printing more and more money and everyone knows you cant run...

Sorry about the spelling error. I am no longer able to support the march due to the fact that I was treated in a disrespectful way by the person wanting to put the march together. This person became agitated when I stood up for someone who listen to Alex Jones.
I don't care for Alex Jones to be honest with you but what other people listen to is not for me to judge.
I was called a fear cultivator when I tried to stand up for this other user and that is far from the truth. I even advocate for no talking in a protest march and no bandannas the user that became angry with me for standing up for the other person involved and is now spreading lies about me.
If any of you have seen my peaceful protests are the best way video you would understand and realize I am not what the angry user say's...

The continuing post-war presence in Vieques of the US Navy drew protests from the local community, angry at the expropriation of their land and the environmental impact of weapons testing. The locals' discontent was exacerbated by the island's parlous economic condition.
These protests came to a head in 1999 when Vieques native David Sanes was killed by a bomb dropped during target practice. A campaign of civil disobedience began. The locals took to the ocean in their small fishing boats and successfully stopped the US Navy's military exercises. The Vieques issue became something of a cause celèbre,...

And in Pakistan on Thursday, hundreds of angry investors, upset by plunging Pakistani share prices, smashed windows of Karachi Stock Exchange and set fires in front of the Islamabad exchange. They're demanding a temporary closure of the market. Let's go to that report.
STORY:
A drain on investor confidence accelerated on Thursday, as stocks fell over 4 percent and the rupee 1.3 percent by midday due to fears of political uncertainty and dire economic challenges.
Close to one thousand mostly small investors gathered in the gardens of the bourse to demand that the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) be closed for two days. Two injured people were taken away after the protest turned violent.
Chanting slogans critical of the government, they were also demanding for the launch of a market...
