Afghanistan debate: Sarah Palin's stupid attacks on Obama/Biden
Recently Sarah Palin's been attacking Barack Obama for a careless formulation in which he implied that all America is doing in Afghanistan is bombing villages and killing civilians. It's an incredibly cynical line of attack, particularly when Palin (hilariously) claims this "disqualifies" Obama from being commander in chief. (Of course what Obama meant was that an overreliance on air strikes--due in part to a shortage of ground troops--is causing a tragic and strategically counterproductive level of civilian casualties.)
Here's the question someone should ask Palin: Does she have any idea why Obama brought this up in the first place? I doubt it. Maybe someone should send her this:

Here we go again…this writer refers to Iran as “the World’s most dangerous and unpredictable power”….OH REALLY!
Has it escaped anyone’s attention that Iran has not started any aggressive war in a thousand years? Just what has the Iranian governmnet done that is so damned “unpredictable” ???
Let’s see now. They fought back hard when the US backed Sadam Hussein attacked them under the supervision and encouragement of the Reagan administration. Remember when Donald Rumsfeld went to Baghdad and shook hands with Sadam and told him “you’re our boy”…then proceeded to give him all sorts of weapons with which to attack Iran. Many of those weapons were used on his own people..but then he was “OUR DICTATOR”…our friend. If he ever had “weapons of mass destruction” it is because the US gave them to him.
Oh Yea…the Iranians did get mad when the USS Vincennes shot down an Iranian Passenger Airliner killing everyone on board. Can’t really blame them for that though. Wouldn’t America be outraged if Iran shot down a United Airlines flight killing all Americans onboard?
Wait..Wait..Wait..Oh Yea. The current President of Iran said something about “wiping Israel off the MAP”…It was a MAP I’m sure.
He did not say “wipe Israel off the Earth”. To those with limited intellect that is two separate meanings. His meaning was that Israel as a Zionist entity should disappear by being absorbed into some other entity that included ALL the citizens (people) who lived there…he surely meant the Palestinians. In other words Israel would become another country…not just a Zionist entity that excluded the Palestinians. He did not mean kill all the Israelis or anyone else. Most people should know that there are around 30,000 Jews living in Iran..descendants of the Hebrews who were there from Biblical times. They are Iranian citizens..living in peace. Some are even in their legislature. There is NO holocaust in Iran. Iran is not a military threat to anyone. The Iranians just helped to settle a dispute in Iraq.
If the United States attacks Iran in a Pearl Harbor style attack WE AMERICANS will be the criminals. We will become PARIAHS among civilized people. It will be a WAR CRIME and we will surely suffer for it therefore it must not happen.
