The Lion Grove Garden, Suzhou, China
The highlight of The Lion Grove Garden is its huge array of gnarled, strangely shaped rocks, which was mostly made of the limestone from Taihu Lake in Wuxi City. Reputed as the "Kingdom of Rockery", the rocks were piled up skillfully and ingeniously, and most of them look like lions in different postures and verves: playing, roaring, fighting, sleeping, or even dancing.

Chinese Civilization中华文明9-4Ming Dynasty天工物华
Science and technology
Compared to the flourishing of science and technology in the Song Dynasty, the Ming Dynasty perhaps saw fewer advancements in science and technology compared to the pace of discovery in the Western world. In fact, key advances in Chinese science in the late Ming were spurred by contact with Europe. In 1626 Johann Adam Schall von Bell wrote the first Chinese treatise on the telescope, the Yuanjingshuo (Far Seeing Optic Glass); in 1634 the last Ming emperor Chongzhen acquired the telescope of the late Johann Schreck (1576--1630). The heliocentric model of the solar system was rejected by the Catholic missionaries in China, but Johannes Kepler and Galileo Galilei's ideas slowly trickled into China starting with the Polish Jesuit Michael Boym (1612--1659) in 1627, Adam...

China Deadline for Tibet
Its Now 14:30 PM Sunday 24 August and the final moments of the Games in China are being shown around the world.
The ceremony was stunning with such an array of images that have shown the world what China is in reality as seen by the rest of the world.
A powerful creative and truly spectacular place that has so much potential that no one can de-nigh, this is why so many become so upset when it allows things to go so wrong as they did in Tibet some months back.
I hope that China keeps moving forward in all aspects but it must also remember that with power comes responsibility to its own people and the world.
I hope it deals fairly with those who have issues with its control over there provinces including Tibet.
If China shows the world it can deal with situations fairly then it will not...

Nothing Could be Finer...
Nothing Could be Finer, written by Leo & Gem, is a musical romp through the manufacturing wasteland of China, starring an endless array of cheap products and environmental disasters. For additional resources, T-shirts, please visit www.sokiestudio.com.
Here's the lyrics:
Nothing could be finer than to buy my stuff from China at the Wal-Mart.
Nothing could be sweeter than a melamine burrita at the Wal-Mart.
Toys that are lead painted sold in every store.
Even the shrimp are tainted, so cheap I'll buy some more.
Feeding my dog Curly, I awakened much too early. I was yawning.
Oh, my God, into his cup, I put some dog food, now my pup...I'm mourning.
If I had Aladdin's lamp for only a day, I'd make a wish and here's what I'd say
Nothing could be finer, save a nickel or a dimer at...
