The Rise of the Rest (The Post-American World)

American anxiety springs from something much deeper, a sense that large and disruptive forces are coursing through the world. In almost every industry, in every aspect of life, it feels like the patterns of the past are being scrambled. “Whirl is king, having driven out Zeus,” wrote Aristophanes 2,400 years ago. And—for the first time in living memory—the United States does not seem to be leading the charge. Americans see that a new world is coming into being, but fear it is one being shaped in distant lands and by foreign people. Look around. The world’s tallest building is in Taipei, and will soon be in Dubai. Read More…

Hidden Face of Globalization
PART II is now available on Youtube and at: (www.nlcnet.org/article.php?id=243) In the global economy, corporations demand enforceable laws - intellectual property and copyright laws - backed up by sanctions to protect their products. However, when we ask these same companies, "Can't we also protect the rights of the 16-year-old who made the product?," the companies respond: "No. That would be an impediment to free trade!" Young garment workers in Bangladesh share their experiences working for companies like Disney and Wal-Mart.

No Logo: Brands, Globalization & Resistance
http://www.mediaed.org Featuring Naomi Klein. In the age of the brand, logos are everywhere. But why do some of the world's best-known brands find themselves on the wrong end of the spray paint can the targets of anti-corporate campaigns by activists and protestors? No Logo, based on the best-selling book by Canadian journalist and activist Naomi Klein, reveals the reasons behind the backlash against the increasing economic and cultural reach of multinational companies. Analyzing how brands like Nike,The Gap, and Tommy Hilfiger became revered symbols worldwide, Klein argues that globalization is a process whereby corporations discovered that profits lay not in making products (outsourced to low-wage workers in developing countries), but in creating branded identities people...

Occult NWO masterplan: fascist globalization & depopulation
Video: teabowbraine. Comment: nibirushock. READ THIS! Lyndon LaRouche 'Tragedy & Hope' address in Washington D.C. on May 7, 2008. LaRouche talked about Obama getting the nomination and the evil mindset behind the "Lisbon Treaty" to create a British-European totalitarian superstate. The brilliant, but wicked and evil spirited occult New World Order masterplan is unfolding. The ultimate goal of globalization (or globalisation) through propaganda and rhetoric (War on Terror) and initiating chaos that will lead to depopulation (genocide). Steven Weber, Director, Institute of International Studies and Professor, Political Science The mobility of skilled labor is transforming the flow of knowledge around the world. These professionals are transferring to developing regions the technology and managerial know-how that once resided exclusively in advanced economies like the U.S. This process is fueling the emergence of new centers of technology entrepreneurship and creating new competitors for Silicon Valley and foreshadows...

Globalization: The Haves and Have Nots - 40 min doc
See full film here: http://www.booserver.com/projects.php?ProjectID=977 17 April 2000 The city is besieged by 40,000 labour, environmental and human rights activists, claiming the WTO puts too much emphasis on 'free' rather than 'fair' trade. Not since the Industrial Revolution has the workPlace been so dramatically restructured. Globalization has been a triumph for the corporate giants and for e-commerce. But the explosion of international trade has also meant jeopardising jobs, forcing out local industries and an ever greater impact on the natural world. The scale of the Seatle protests took the world by surprise and was proof for many that it's time to re-examine the global economic machine

With many of the planet's remaining natural resources on indigenous lands, traditional practices of biodiversity preservation have, ironically, made these lands targets for global corporations seeking the last forests, genetic and plant materials, oil, and...
