Machinist News Network Oldest Manufacturer & Chinese Threat
GoIAM.org - More than 200 years ago the legendary Paul Revere created what is now the oldest manufacturing company in the United States, Revere Copper.
Now, like so many other manufacturing companies in the United States, Revere Copper finds itself threatened by China's blatant currency manipulation and unfair trade practices.
The company just announced it will be closing its New Bedford, Mass. copper plate and sheet mill leaving 85 dedicated workers without a job.
When asked by Manufacturing and Technology News what Paul Revere would say if he was making his midnight ride tonight the head of the company emphatically said "The Chinese are coming!"
Revere Copper produces copper and brass products used in numerous applications by many different companies.
But since 2000, Manufacturing and Technology News reports about 30 percent of the manufacturing plants they supplied have either closed down or moved production offshore.
For the employees at Revere Copper and those at so many other manufacturing plants throughout the country who have lost their jobs, in large part
because of China's exploitation of cheap labor, the time is long overdue for the Bush administration and lawmakers to take action to halt China's unfair trade practices. GoIAM.org

CHINESE Threat - buying up US assets 10-18-2007
China now sells more than $250 BILLION a year to the U.S. than it buys.
With a record high trade imbalance with China and other foreign countries, they now have their sights aimed at buying US assets.

What is the China Threat?
Learn from Bill Gertz, the leading national security journalist in the United States, and the author of "The China Threat". Mr Gertz discusses how the Pentagon decided China is no threat simply from China's public statements. Elements of the threat include the Communist dictatorship and ideology which is responsible for 30-60 million deaths, religious genocide. China today is becomming more, not less repressive in spite of increased trade. Demands for democracy were never made in exchange for unlimited trade. China can be a greater national secuity threat than the Soviet Union due to their economic power. He describes how lack of American leadership invites attack, such as with April Glasspie's statement to Saddam Hussein regarding Kuwait; how the threat to Taiwan has increased due to American ambiguity. Watch and learn much more, includint what America's response should be if China invades Taiwan.
