Scorpene submarine
The Scorpene submarines have been developed by a French-Spanish joint venture of DCN-Izar shipbuilders. Two units were delivered to the Chilean Navy in 2006 and two more will be delivered to the Malaysian Navy in 2009. In 2005, India placed an order for six Scorpene submarines, they will be delivered between 2012 and 2017.

The Brahmos Supersonic Cruise Missile (Part 1)
The BrahMos is a supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft or land. It is a joint venture between Russia's Mashinostreyenia, and India's Brahmos corp. Propulsion is based on the Russian Yakhont missile, while guidance is developed by Brahmos corp., established in India is a joint venture between India and Russia. BrahMos is currently one of the few supersonic cruise missiles in the world and at speeds of 2.5 to 2.8 Mach is about 3 times faster than the subsonic cruise missile, BGM-109_Tomahawk.

Sailors Take Plunge in WA Submarine Exercise
A thousand sailors from more than 30 countries are getting ready to take the plunge in the largest submarine rescue exercise to taking place in Australia.
Pacific Reach is a two-week-long Navy exercise held in the waters of Cockburn Sound, Western Australia, to promote regional cooperation on submarine rescue.
This year's exercise, the fourth in the series, is being hosted by Australia, with our sailors joining ships, submarines, rescue vessels and divers from eight countries and naval observers from another 24 nations.
Ships from around Australia and the Pacific Rim have been coming alongside HMAS Stirling on Garden Island all this week and are preparing to get their Exercise underway.

Scorpene: KD Tun Razak
THE country's second Scorpene submarine was named and launched by the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah.
The KD Tun Razak, like the country's first submarine, KD Tunku Abdul Rahman, was built by DCNS of France and Navantia of Spain.
KD Tun Razak, 67.5-metre diesel-powered submarine, will be manned by a crew of 31.
The submarine was named after the country's second prime minister, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, in recognition of his contribution to the country.
The first submarine, KD Tunku Abdul Rahman, is named after Malaysia's first prime minister.
Both submarines can undertake a wide range of missions, including naval blockades, information-gathering and landing or retrieval of commandos.
They can operate alone or in combination with air and sea forces.
