India's Integrated Guided Missile Program- Agni I --Part 2
Agni-III is the third in the Agni series of missiles. The Agni I has a range of 700-800 km. Agni I is PAKISTAN SPECIFIC and the Agni-II as a range of 2,000--2,500 km which is used to target western china and pakistan. They are claimed to be a part of the "credible deterrence" against China and Pakistan. The Agni-II can only reach some parts of western China. With the successful test of Agni-III, which has a range of 3500 kms, India can target most of Chinese cities including Beijing and Shanghai.

Agni III range depends on the payload!! The range will be way more than what is shown on TV and internet. More than 5000km range can be achieved by reducing the size of the 200 kiloton war head.
Agni II AT (an improved version of Agni II) has more range than what was previously told!! Agni II AT has a range of 4500km with 1500kg payload. It is all about either reducing the weight of the missile or the war head. Agni II AT with its current range can easily hit any place in china!!
