Russian economy: safe haven or oil bubble?
As the US economy has already fallen into a recession, according to the majority of economists, and the European one doesn't feel well, the so-called BRIC countries -- Brazil, Russia, India and China -- are attracting more and more foreign investors. Is Russia a truly safe haven in the troubled waters of the world economy? How will the current crisis affect Russian economic development? To answer these questions, our guest today is Aleksey Novikov.

NZ Suits talking Oil
Brad Gordon from Macquarie Private Wealth talking Oil - he is clutching at straws.
Lets see - all over the developed world - lets not forget the less-developed world oil consumption is booming which leads onto growth in demand - oil price doubled with in a year when demand has only increased insignificantly -!!! Hulloo - You can't just count demand from developed nations - Demand from BRIC countries has been massive - and is against a static, constrained supply situation.
Clueless.
I shouldn't be too harsh - Brad is nice guy - truly he is, knew him from Varsity days - but he really needs to school up on the fundamentals of oil.

Call for renewed Kosovo talks
In Serbian.
RTS 080515
- China, India and Russia foreign ministers called on Thursday for a renewal of talks between Serbia's leaders and Kosovo on the status of the disputed territory.
'Russia, India and China call for the renewal of talks between Belgrade and Pristina within the framework of international law and for agreement between them on all problems related to this Serbian province,' Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
Lavrov was speaking alongside his Chinese and Indian counterparts, who gathered in the Siberian city of Yekaterinburg for a meeting on Friday of foreign ministers of the BRIC countries -- Brazil, Russia, India and China. Lavrov stressed that the Kosovo dispute should be resolved 'exclusively on the basis of international law.'

Herman Gref, Chief Executive Officer, Sberbank RF, Russian Federation; Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation (2000-2007)
Angel Gurría, Secretary-General, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Paris

Economic featuers about BRICs
BRICs are terms used to refer to the combination of Brazil, Russia, India, and China.
General consensus is that the term was first prominently used in a thesis of the Goldman Sachs investment bank. The main point of this 2003 paper was to argue that the economies of the BRICs are rapidly developing and by the year 2050 will eclipse most of the current richest countries of the world.
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies has perforemd BRICs Program. This movie is about Economic featuers about BRICs.

Battlefields: "Fall of France" 1 of 12
At dawn on Friday, 10 May 1940, Adolf Hitler plunged his bloody fists into the Low Countries and headed for France; at 5:00 PM that same evening, Winston Churchill became Prime Minister of Great Britain. The new Prime Minister felt confident of victory then, but the French high command had made a grave miscalculation. Believing that the enemy would be coming through Belgium, as in 1914, the sixty-seven-year-old generalissimo Maurice Gamelin had sent the flower of the French troops and the entire British army?the British Expeditionary Force, or B.E.F. into Flanders. Instead, Nazi tanks struck through Ardennes Forest and crossed the Meuse. When the French defenders panicked, the panzers rolled up the entire Allied line all the way to the sea, trapping the Allies' force.
