International Conflict, Western World Threats and Geopolitical Intelligence
Russia appears focused on strengthening its nuclear capabilities rather than building up its regular armed forces, which makes maintaining the U.S. nuclear arsenal increasingly important, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said on Monday.
The Pentagon chief, speaking to Air Force officers in Virginia, said America’s need for nuclear weapons to deter potential enemies from striking would grow in the future.

Nuclear Weapons Test-596-Chinese Test 22kt This pure-fission U-235 implosion fission device named "596" was China's first nuclear test. The device weighed 1550 kg. No plutonium was available at this time. 596 is the codename of the People's Republic of China's first nuclear weapons test, detonated on October 16, 1964 at the Lop Nur test site. TSAR BOMB RUSSIAN BIGGEST NUCLEAR WEAPON 1 M TONNES Tsar Bomba (Царь-бомба), literally "Emperor Bomb", is the Western name for the RDS-220 hydrogen bomb (codenamed "Иван" (Ivan) by its developers) — the largest, most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated. Developed by the Soviet Union, the bomb was originally designed to have a yield of about 100 megatons of TNT; however that was reduced by half in order to limit the amount of nuclear fallout that would result. Nuclear Weapons Test-Operation Dominic Operation Dominic was a series of 105 nuclear test explosions conducted in 1962 and 1963 by the United States. Those conducted in the Pacific are sometimes called Dominic I. The blasts in Nevada are known as Dominic II.
