FORTUNA, Spain — Lush fields of lettuce and hothouses of tomatoes line the roads. Verdant new developments of plush pastel vacation homes beckon buyers from Britain and Germany. Golf courses — dozens of them, all recently built — give way to the beach. At last, this hardscrabble corner of southeast Spain is thriving.
There is only one problem with the picture of bounty: this province, Murcia, is running out of water. Swaths of southeast Spain are steadily turning into desert, a process spurred on by global warming and poorly planned development.

Nepal facing severe fuel shortage
Nepal is severely running short of fuel and in such a situation how to get hold of petrol is one of the hottest topics. It has created the chaos as the consequent shortage has led to rationing and pump queues of several kilometers. And even after queuing for a whole day, people here are getting only 10-15 liters and sometimes not even a liter.
Life is getting miserable and it's not those who depend on fuel for their livelihood but even those who don't, are suffering. Shortage of fuel supply has seriously affected the transportation because drivers jostle to keep their spots every time the queue edges forward and Nepali workers devote multiple hours or even days each week to filling up fuel.
