Indian Village Water Crisis
CHAN:
Faced with a drinking water shortage, people in India's eastern Gaya district are forced to drink filthy water, unfit even for cleaning purposes. Here's more on their situation.
STORY:
Locals of Sarangpur village claim there is no other source of drinking water in the area and that they drink this muddy well water due to the crisis. They claim that the dirty well water is the main source of water for around 50 households and blame the water crisis on the government's apathy to correct the problem.
They say that there are even frogs are in the filthy water.
[Virendra Mhamri, Local Villager]:
"There is acute water shortage here and we don't have any alternatives. All we have is this water you see flowing. It's enough for some 50 households in the village."

Gurdwara Sri Bauli Sahib, Dhakauli
Gurdwara Sri Bauli Sahib Ji is situated in village 'Dhakauli' (distt. Patiala), Punjab, India. After winning the battle of Bhangani Sahib, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji visited this village.
The villagers told Guru Ji about water shortage in this village. On hearing this, Guru Gobind Singh Ji pierced his spear in the soil and immediately sweet and clean water started flowing.
Sikhs later constructed a 'Bauli' there.
A source of water is called 'Bauli' in which stairs are constructed to reach the water. Thus, a 'Bauli' is simply a covered reservoir built with stairs.
This historic 'Bauli' still exists.

Green Olympics at Great Cost
Beijing Redirects Essential Water from the South
The Chinese Communist Party sacrifices people's basic water usage to build the "Green Olympic" image.
Chinese communist authorities have spent 1.7 billion U.S. dollars to build new Olympic stadiums... the most ever in the history of the games.
And as part of a campaign to create a green image for Beijing, authorities are diverting water from nearby provinces to dry rivers and lakes in the capital. But where the water is coming from is what has many Chinese angry. Here's more from our China News team.
STORY:
Beijing has serious water pollution problems. Many reservoirs have almost dried up and there is barely enough water for current residents. There are big concerns about whether there would be enough...

World Food Crisis: Is global meat consumption a major cause?
Is a change of diet key to solving global warming & food crisis?
Some facts
While 100 million tons of grain are being diverted to make fuel this year, over seven times as much (760 million tons) will be used to feed animals. The world's passion for meat is a much bigger cause of global hunger than its passion for the car.
To maximise food production it is best to be vegan. According to Simon Fairlie, in his magazine The Land, it would take just 3 million hectares of arable land to meet Britain's food needs, half the current total, if the population were vegan.
* To produce 1 lb of meat, an average of 40 lbs of vegetation is used.
* 12 lbs of wheat produce 12 loaves of bread and only 1hamburger.
* It takes 3.25 acres of land to produce food for a meat eater on a continuing basis, while...

According to the officials, last koshi floods in Nepal has swept away transmission lines used to import electricity from neighboring India and cannot be repaired by winter. Nepal facing severe fuel shortage
Nepal is severely running short of fuel and in such a situation how to get hold of petrol is one of the hottest topics. It has created the chaos as the consequent shortage has led to rationing and pump queues of several kilometers. And even after queuing for a whole day, people here are getting only 10-15 liters and sometimes not even a liter.
Life is getting miserable and it's not those who depend on fuel for their livelihood but even those who don't, are suffering. Shortage of fuel supply has seriously affected the transportation because drivers jostle to keep their spots every time the queue edges forward and Nepali workers devote multiple hours or even days each week to filling up fuel.
As Nepal has just sworn in the new PM, tackling the increasing...

Israel allows aid into Gaza Strip
After more than 10 days of full closure of the Gaza Strip crossing points, unconfirmed reports said that nearly 33 aid trucks carrying humanitarian equipment, food and medications will be let to enter into the Gaza Strip. The mentioned trucks are all UNRWA aids. These reports were published by Israeli media outlets Monday morning despite an earlier decision by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak to keep crossings closed. Sunday saw a series of homemade projectile launches executed by Palestinian resistance factions towards Israeli targets, though no injuries on the Israeli side were reported. Early in the day Israeli air forces carried out an air raid killing four activists, and in the early evening explosions were heard in...

Future Industry Analysis -- Environmental Sustainability (25)
Future Industry Analysis Environmental Sustainability (25)
The industries of the future are those that have a lot to do with the following three issues: environment, conservation, and renewal. Several years ago, most people in the US thought of these issues as less than mainstream. Why have these issues suddenly become important? In fact, they are critical now for sustaining economic and job growths.
Westerners seldom worry about scarcity until recently. The planet seemed to have plenty of resources for its 6.2 billion inhabitants. The reason is that only the rich countries in North America, Western Europe, and Japan with a combined population of about 0.8 billion are consuming most of the worlds resources, and producing most of its products. The wakeup call came with the rise of...

Leopard "Mungaba" near threatened species HD High Definition Sigmund and Freud Secret Garden
The leopard (IPA /lɛpə(r)d/; Panthera pardus) is a member of the Felidae family and the smallest of the four "big cats" in the genus Panthera; the other three are the tiger, lion and jaguar. Once distributed across southern Asia and Africa, from Korea to South Africa, the leopard's range of distribution has decreased radically over time due to hunting and loss of habitat, and the leopard now chiefly occurs in sub-Saharan Africa. There are fragmented populations in India, Indochina, Malaysia, and China. Due to the loss of range and continual declines in population, the cat has been downgraded to "Near Threatened" species; its numbers are greater than that of the other Panthera species, all of which face more acute conservation concerns.
The leopard has relatively short legs and a long...
