Oil Wars: Chinese Corp. pt.2/5
The oil stocks and offshore reserves obviously share one thing in common, their vicinity to the sea this is an asset when one considers the easy of importations and exportations. It is also a weakness because it is exposed to foreign encounters. The Taiwanese security question is exposed, how long could China sustain a cross-straight assault? All three of the stock oil bases are within range of Taiwanese cruse missile attacks thus as the question of oil acquisition is presented the question of energy security follows close behind.
China's oil output is far lower than its domestic need due to low oil resources. It's growing economy demands greater and greater amounts of crude oil every year. In 2004, China had to import 100 million tons of crude oil in order to supply its energy demand,...

President Bush Offshore Oil Production will lower prices provide jobs
Of course Pelosi will blaim it all on Bush!
Bush wants to allow the DOI to lease property for oil production
Dem's complain about big oil but never mention you can buy shares and invest, they complained too when big oil went bankrupt like Texaco, Calpine and Enron.
But according to Big oil execs:
The ex-chief executive of BP PLC (BP) John Browne said Tuesday that he expects falling oil demand to bring oil prices down, rather than an increase of supply.
Speaking at the Offshore Northern Seas conference in Stavanger Norway, Browne said: "Oil demand, not supply, will peak oil."
Oil prices have hit record peaks of just under $150 a barrel in the first half of 2008, although prices have since slipped back down towards $115 a barrel.

Stop the Spread of War--Seumas Milne Speaks in Manchester P2
Manchester, England. 4th September 2008. Greater Manchester Stop the War Coalition holds a rally on the theme of stop the spread of war in the context of the unprovoked US-backed military attack by Georgia on South Ossetia. This vicious attack killed Russian peacekeepers, over 1,500 civilians and caused the destruction of its capital city Tskhinvali. US support for Georgian membership of NATO was the green light for this reckless adventure. If France and Germany had not vetoed NATO membership the outcome could have been a major war between nuclear-armed NATO and Russia. Having lost its rationale at the end of the Cold War, NATO has sought to reinvent itself as a forum for military action by the so-called 'international community'. In reality it has become a vehicle for US-led use of...

Because after ETA's announcement, it's probable that other independent movements -- peaceful or not -- in countries like Romania or Belgium, will feel the legitimacy in forcing politicial sessions

Douglas Feith - 60 Minutes pt 1 of 2
Why Iraq was invaded? He says 'the president decided' that the threats were so great that Saddam would attack the US at a time and place of his choosing? As if the Gulf War didn't send the message, so instead of focusing on the 'terrorists' in Afghanistan and Pakistan where supposedly Osama Bin Laden is hiding (and never going to be caught to keep you in fear), the US first strikes, assassinates Iraq's leaders, commits genocide, for oil. But not for cheap prices, instead for power, the Iraq Petroleum Company — Exxon Mobil, Shell, Total and BP and Chevron, got no-bid contracts to service Iraq's largest oil fields in thanks for their consulting services, how nice. At least the Bush administration has stopped saying it was to spread democracy to the middle east. And why doesn't the US...
