Western lectures puzzle us': Lavrov - China and Central Asia Support Russian actions
Beijing has expressed concern over stability in the Caucasus region but has refrained from outright condemnation of Russia's actions. The response from most countries in the West has been far more critical. Russia's FM Sergey Lavrov reacted by blaming them for disregarding Russian casualties.
Turkey has taken a similar line to China and has urged dialogue.
Meanwhile French President Nicolas Sarkozy is pressing for new talks to determine the role of Russian forces in the region, particularly those currently on Georgian soil.
Those demands that have been echoed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
"I have reiterated that in my view the six-point peace plan regrettably is not fulfilled, particularly in view of the presence of Russian troops in Poti and other checkpoints, and at the same...

I'm Iranian من ايراني هستم
The Iranian peoples are a collection of ethnic groups, defined along linguistic lines as speaking Iranian languages. They are spread across the Iranian plateau, stretching from the Hindu Kush to central Anatolia and from Central Asia to the Persian Gulf - a region that is sometimes termed Greater Iran. Speakers of Iranian languages, however, were once found throughout Eurasia, from the Balkans to western China. As Iranian peoples are not confined to the borders of the current state of Iran, the term Iranic peoples is sometimes used to avoid confusion with the citizens of Iran.
The series of ethnic groups which comprise the Iranian peoples are traced to a branch of the ancient Indo-European Aryans known as the Iranians or Proto-Iranians. Archaeological finds in Russia, Central Asia and...

Central Asia: Tajikistan
SOUNDS OF GLOBAL WORSHIP:
CENTRAL ASIA, TAJIKISTAN
At one time much of Central Asia was under Russian control and, although they now have their independence, civil war has caused much suffering. Still, their beautiful cultural forms of music, dance and celebratration have remained strong.
Spiritual interest is common, and the primary religious expression is Sunni Muslim of the Hanafite branch. Although small, a church has been birthed here and is learning to offer worship of their own heart sounds. You will hear this in the video, and you will see a blending of live worship along with the wonderful dancing from a local wedding celebration. The life of both the song and the dancing express so well the heart of these people.

Islam in Russia
Islam in Russia
Islam is the second largest religion in Russia, and is the religion of many ethnic minorities, as well as of many Slavic converts. Most of the ethnic Muslims are from the Middle Volga and Caucasus region. According to the last census in 2002, about 14.5 million, or 10% of Russia's 144 million population were ethnic Muslims, but some have claimed the number is closer to 20 million. Another approach to measure the number of Islam adherents in Russia is based on self-identification data of a specific ethnic group. The following table provides an overview of the number of Muslim-majority ethnic groups in Russia and what percentage of the population they make up, based on the 2002 Russian Census.
The largest Islamic community present resides in Tatarstan and Bashkortostan. A...

Russia survives the worst
This week In Context has a look at how the global financial crisis impacts Russia. Moscow has the resources to weather the storm. Also, NATO continues to invite Georgia to join the alliance. I tell you why this wont happen anytime soon. Politics, oil, and pipelines dont always mix well. I expain why the Nabucco pipeline from Central Asia to Europe will probably never be built. And much, much more.

Central Asia - Death of Beauty
http://www.white-history.com/hwr32.htm In southern Russia, the after effects of three hundred years of Mongol rule in the middle ages left a clear genetic imprint upon many of the White people in that region. Many of the peoples of regions such as Kazakhstan are of clear mixed racial origin. Even though they were originally the easternmost Indo-European peoples and as such part of the Slavic tribes, their racial identify was completely submerged by the Mongol invasion and it would be genetically incorrect to classify them as Slavic.
The changes were made in very brutal ways. The wholesale rape of White women, for which the Mongols were famous, is a good example. The major impact of the Mongol invasion upon southern and central Europe was also that they physically killed huge numbers of...
