Gazprom to get a slice of Kyrgyz energy wealth
The Kyrgyz government and Gazprom have agreed to draft the terms of the Russian gas giant's participation in the privatisation of 75% plus one share in Kyrgyzgaz. The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding during a meeting in the capital Bishkek on Thursday.

Following disruptions to gas supplies from Russia over two winters, Europe is demanding better guarantees of energy security from Moscow. It also wants to reduce its reliance on Kremlin controlled sources, getting its gas from more countries. The state dominated Russian energy giant Gazprom is sceptical about that effort. In an exclusive interview, the Deputy Chairman and head of Gazprom's export division, Alexander Medvedev, told EuroNews that Europe will actually use more Russian gas in the future as it is vital to the region's economic competitiveness.

Gazprom announces another 25% gas cut to Ukraine
The Russian gas giant Gazprom announced additional 25 per cent cut in energy supplies to Ukraine. The move follows Ukraine's delays to settle its debt to the company. Although Russian and Ukrainian presidents have had telephone talks, representatives of Ukraine's Naftagaz company have not arrived in Moscow for negotiations.

Gasprom to reduce energy shipments to belarus by 45%

Ukraine promises to return stolen Russian gas
Ukraine's government has admitted it illegally siphoned off 1.3 billion cubic metres of Russian gas destined for Western Europe. The gas was taken last year from the pipeline that crosses Ukraine.
