Israel Children Learn Defense In War Terrorism Exercise
On April 8, 2008, under the threat of war and terrorism by Iran and Syria, Israel prepares her children in the largest national civilian exercise for emergency situations in Israel's history. Throughout the day, the Israel National Emergency Authority practiced a long series of scenarios, including situations of chemical missiles being fired on Israel communities and rescuing wounded trapped in rubble.
For the first time during the exercise, "Turning Point 2," messages were distributed to citizens and instructions were given through the media.

Middle East Update - Iran Test Fires Missiles (rockets) BibleOrTraditions
(RTTNews, July 8, 2008) - Iran has threatened to attack Israel and the U.S. navy in the Gulf as its first response to any attack on its nuclear sites, media reports quoting a senior aide to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Tuesday.
"The first U.S. shot on Iran would set the United States' vital interests in the world on fire," said Ali Shirazi, who is Khamenei's representative to the naval forces of the elite Revolutionary Guards. He said that Tel Aviv and the U.S. fleet in the Persian Gulf would be the targets that would be set on fire in Iran's crushing response.

The USS Liberty incident was an attack on a U.S. Navy intelligence ship, USS Liberty, in international waters about 12.5 nautical miles (23 km) from the coast of the Sinai Peninsula, north of El Arish, by Israeli fighter planes and torpedo boats on June 8, 1967.
It occurred during the Six-Day War, a conflict between Israel and the Arab states of Egypt, Jordan and Syria. The Israeli attack killed 34 U.S. servicemen and wounded at least 173. The attack was the second deadliest against a U.S. Naval vessel since the end of World War II, surpassed only by the Iraqi Exocet missile attack on the USS Stark on May 17, 1987, and marked the single greatest loss of life by the U.S. Intelligence Community.
