As Iran Tests Missile Fleet, Experts Map High-Tech Israeli Attack

An attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities would be far more extensive than the 1980 raid. Some of the would-be targets for the Israeli Air Force (IAF) are hardened with concrete coverings and underground rooms. Dozens of planes would have to dodge radar and antiaircraft missile batteries to deliver multiple payloads of penetrating warheads—bought from the United States—to crack them open. So what might such an airstrike actually look like? We asked two leading researchers in military ops to break down the arsenal for aerial offense and defense, plus ground support, in a potential battle that very well could determine the future of the Middle East.
