Admiral Flota Sovetskovo Soyuza Kuznetsov (Russian: Адмирал флота Советского Союза Кузнецов, originally named Tbilisi and then Leonid Brezhnev is an aircraft carrier (heavy aircraft carrying cruiser (TAVKR) in Russian classification) serving as the flagship of the Russian Navy. She was originally commissioned in the Soviet Navy, and was intended to be the lead ship of her class, but the only other ship of her class, Varyag, has never been commissioned and was sold to the People's Republic of China by Ukraine under the condition she would never be refitted for combat.Kuznetsov was named after the Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Nikolai Gerasimovich Kuznetsov.

Head commander of the Russian Northern Fleet, ADMIRAL VLADIMIR VYSOTSKII, says his fleet will do anything to strengthen its presence in the places where Russia has strategic interests. He also confirms that the fleet from now on will conduct major rehearsals once every six months.
The Northern Fleet vessels headed by the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier conducted several training operations both in the Atlantic and in the Mediterranean. Also vessels from the Black Sea fleet joined parts of the rehearsal.
- We will do anything to strengthen our presence in the areas where Russia has strategic interests, he maintained. He also said that major navy rehearsals from now on will be conducted every six months.
