Is oil price bubble ready to burst?
The oil wells that spewed petro dollars are now finally giving way as crude prices fell near 8 per cent in intra day trade on Tuesday and traders are wondering if $100/bbl will hold on. Nick Donovan: An Oil Trust Fund for Sudan
In this video, Donovan outlines a proposal for an "oil trust fund" in Sudan. As Donovan explains, "Faced with an oil embargo, Khartoum would be forced to allow UN peacekeepers to enter -- yet sanctions are opposed by China, India, Malaysia and other countries who import Sudanese oil. An oil trust fund would keep money away from the Sudanese military and the Janjaweed while securing oil supplies for India, Malaysia, China and others. It would only allow the use of oil revenues for humanitarian and development purposes, for rebuilding Southern Sudan and for reparations for Darfuri victims and survivors."
