I do not agree that China is “not a threat.” In fact, China is a threat because of its underground bunker system, nuclear missile forces and willingness to use nuclear force. Also, China’s increasing ability to interrupt American naval forces in the South China Sea is a problem.
“China’s Military Is a Growing Threat.”

The long-term military implications of the Russian-Georgian war are addressed by Viacheslav Tseluiko. He warns that the popular conclusions regarding the weakness of the Georgian army during the conflict should not be taken as decisive evidence of the inability of Georgian forces to counter Russian intervention. The Georgians seem to have learned some valuable lessons [...]

NEW DELHI: Instead of being all aflutter over the raging controversy on whether India has a credible thermonuclear or hydrogen bomb, the armed forces are more worried about the delivery systems — the yet-to-be-fully proven Agni missiles and the still-to-be-developed SLBMs (submarine-launched ballistic missiles).
Armed forces lose sleep over delivery systems – India – The [...]

The transformation of Russia’s military may be the most successful of President Dmitry Medvedev’s modernization programs, but it’s not something he talks about much publicly because it is so controversial.
The huge project involves painful cuts and dismantling deep-vested interests that have thrived on bloated, Soviet-style armed forces.

The headquarters of the armed forces blamed the bombing on “terrorists” backed by “the Great Satan America and its ally Britain”.
