‘Dr Doom’ – economist who predicted financial meltdown of 2008 – now warns Iran conflict ‘could spiral economy into global recession’ | Mail Online

Economist Nouriel Roubini, nicknamed ‘Dr. Doom’ for his gloomy predictions in the run-up to the financial meltdown four years ago, says the fallout from that crisis could last the rest of this decade.

Dr Roubini, widely acknowledged to have predicted the crash of 2008, sees tough times ahead for the global economy and is warning that without major policy changes things can still get much worse.

He said the biggest uncertainty is the possibility of a conflict with Iran over its nuclear program that involves Israel, the United States, or both.

China: Regime Security Over National Security? | The Diplomat

The Chinese Communist Party’s placement of regime security over national security interests is typical of autocracies. It’s also very dangerous.

In contrast, in autocracies, regime security and national security often conflict. Because in such systems the fall of government also means the collapse of the regime, the ruling elites characteristically assign a higher priority to protecting regime security than national security. In other words, regime interests override national interests in autocracies. Moreover, threat perception by autocracies is notable for its political nature. While democracies perceive external threats exclusively in terms of physical security, autocracies see such threats in both political/ideological and military terms. Consequently, autocracies tend to devote costly resources to defending against external political threats and make unnecessary enemies of democracies not because of their military threat, but because of their political threat. So in their pursuit of regime security, autocracies simply can’t avoid undermining the security of the nation, both in terms of wasting national resources and antagonizing major democratic powers they otherwise should befriend.

This perspective may help us better understand the constant tensions between the regime security of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the national security of China. Chinese foreign policy today is frequently torn by these two conflicting objectives.  Two examples can serve as illustrations.

China’s policy toward North Korea should be exhibit A of this conflict. Chinese national security interests dictate that China shouldn’t tolerate North Korea’s nuclear weapons program or aggressive behavior toward its neighbors….

Beijing Foreign Policy Hurts China | The Diplomat

The concepts learned apply to Russia as well. Russia shouldn’t tolerate a nuclear Iran and it’s aggressive behavior, but an Iranian regime aligned with the west is even worse for the regime. It’s national security being hurt in the process.

The following sentence explains that China’s peaceful rise could turn into an unpeaceful one if Chineses leaders focus too heavily on regime security.

If poorly managed, the pathological tensions between regime security and national security in Chinese foreign policy could doom the CCP’s self-proclaimed goal of “peaceful development.”

Want to know why China and/or Russia would risk war with the United States? Regime security over national security.

‘Dr. Doom’ Investor: Prepare for World III – Israel National News

“On another optimistic note,” Dr. Faber said sarcastically, “World War III will occur in the next five years. That means the Middle East will blow up. New regimes there will be less Western-friendly. The West has also figured out it can’t contain China, which is rising rapidly and will have more military and naval power in Southeast Asia. The only way for the West to contain China is to control the oil tap in the Middle East.”

The ‘post-apocalyptic’ condo that can withstand a nuclear attack – The Week

Real estate may be a risky investment these days, but 2012 is a particularly ripe period for apocalyptic scenarios: Rogue nuclear missile attacks, meteors or space junk crashing down from the heavens, the End Times rapture, or even sketchy Mayan prophesies. So Denver-based developer Larry Hall is making a big bet on a condominium complex in the middle of Kansas, notable for being entirely underground — and able to withstand a direct nuclear strike. Indeed, Hall’s seven-unit luxury Survival Condo is built inside an old Atlas “F” nuclear missile silo. (Watch a CBS News report below.) Here’s a guide to the unusual form of underground living:

The last New Year’s Day in human history is here.

You may not believe so, but millions do. They’re convinced that ancient Maya priests calculated Dec. 21, 2012, as the end of the world as we know it. These claims and warnings, prognostications and reassurances are on bookstore shelves, on Web sites, in museum exhibits and in tourist promotions. The global doomsday industry even has a name — 2012ology.

America in Bible Prophecy: Three Biblical Signs of Impending Doom on America

Find out why America is in pretty serious trouble according to the Bible. It gives us some signs that appear to be close at hand. These signs indicate the approach of doom. America in Bible prophecy may be short and brutal.

In interpreting Bible prophecy one must think about the possibility of multiple futures or scenarios. This happens because often the prophecies are unclear. Think of the interpretations that follow as one possibility among many. I use a methodology that first defines an overall framework based on Nebuchadnezzar’s statue – the big picture. Then I define a couple of constraints – the Seals must be helpful (some Seals must act as a sign) and open with a bang.

The idea that the Seals open with a bang is based on the following verse in the Bible concerning Nebuchadnezzar’s statue:

Daniel 2:34 While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them.

When each Seal is opened, then something is getting smashed. All major end-times kingdoms will be getting smashed. If we are in the end-times right now, then the US is getting smashed. There will be no gently fading off into the sunset. There will be smashing and obliteration.

The end result of this analysis leads to terrifying set of events that will come upon us suddenly within a few years or less.

Just in case you are inclined to disagree with this analysis, check out my About page for deeper understanding about why nuclear war is a real concern.

You can just look at the Summary section if you wish. The other sections provide a lot more detail concerning how I developed the Summary section.

Summary

The general idea is that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse ends with the destruction of America. However, the interpretation of the first three Seals is not what you expect due to the big-picture constraints I have imposed. We start at the 2nd Seal with the event on 9/11.

What does the future hold for America? Rabbi Jonathan Cahn suggests that 9/11 was a serious sign of impending doom on America, and is just like a similar sign that foretold the impending doom of ancient Israel. This sign actually leads us on a trail to the seals of Revelations and back to Isaiah where it ultimately ends up with the destruction of America.

The following video lays out how 9/11 is very similar to the attack on ancient Israel as a sign given from God.

Rabbi Cahn has a book and DVD on the topic: The Harbinger.

So the first sign of impending doom on America was the 9/11 attack and the opening of 2nd Seal. In this event the World Trade Center and Pentagon are getting smashed.

The 3rd Seal provides the second sign of impending doom. However, this sign cannot be related to famine. It must open with a bang – something gets smashed. It opens with a nuclear bang as Israel obliterates its neighbors. It also provides the catalyst for the opening of the 4th Seal. Here is a brief interpretation of the 3rd Seal:

The balances refer to judgement. Look up wheat (survived) and barley (destroyed) in Exodus. One part survives and three parts are wiped out – referring to Israel’s neighbors. Do not harm Israel. Look at Amos 1 and Isaiah 17.

Check out Daniel 5 (the finger writing on the wall) for more conceptual understanding of judgement followed by sentencing.

If the 4th Seal represents the arrival of doom, then there must be a reason it opens. It is the 3rd Seal that provides the reason. If Israel attacks Iran like it is threatening to do, then this might set off the 4th war between Israel and its neighbors. Amos 1 tells us that Israel’s neighbors get obliterated in this war. It appears that nuclear weapons are used.

Interestingly, Russian leaders have been threatening nuclear war if Iran or Syria are attacked. The problem of course is that nobody believes them. But Russia has been transformed into a mafia state with Putin as its head. Godfather Putin just might risk war if his neck is on the line, and currently revolution is in the air. A Russian revolution would probably mean death for Putin.

In the 4th Seal doom has arrived, but we get another sign shortly before this Seal opens. The third sign of impending doom occurs a few days before  America’s destruction. American representatives bring gifts for the new Jewish temple on the Temple Mount. According to Isaiah 18, this sign occurs in the spring following the destruction of Damascus.

At this point, we wait for war in the Middle East. If it turns nuclear and Damascus is destroyed, then that is the sign to flee America. You will have until the beginning of spring in the following year to get out. Next we look for a sign concerning gifts being brought from the US to the new Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount. That will provide a good approximation of the attack date.

What follows is a lot more detail about all the Seals. I give you an quick overview, then the full details follow.

A short overview of the Seals

Overlaying Nebuchadnezzar’s statue onto the Seals of Revelations gives something like the following:

4th Seal – Destruction of America, and rise of EU
6th Seal – Destruction of EU
7th Seal – Rise and fall of final empire.

Here are all the Seals with the appropriate smashing:

First Seal – Start of End-time (America, 1945, First Atomic Bomb)

Second Seal – Sign – Rise of Islam (9/11/2001?), and a sign to America

Third Seal – Sign – Fall of Damascus and Friends

Fourth Seal – Fall of American Empire (Attackers Russia and China); Implicit rise of EU empire

Fifth Seal – Sign – Small Nuclear Event (Nuclear Terrorism) Targeting Christians (Rome)

Sixth Seal – Fall of EU Empire (Attacker is Islam – Iran)

Seventh Seal – Sign – Official Rise of Final (Islamic) Empire. We are told to wait a short time for the smashing. Find out how Allah is 666.

Seventh Seal (Rev. 8:5+) – Massive Nuclear War. Here is the smashing.

Full Detail

Before the destruction of ancient Israel, it received several harbingers of impending doom. Rabbi Jonathan Cahn has written a book called The Harbinger: The ancient mystery that holds the secret of America’s future. In the book Rabbi Cahn shows how 9/11 contains the very same harbingers – except this time it’s for America. Israel ignored the warnings and was uprooted (destroyed) as a result. America is doing the same thing. The key to understanding is given by Isaiah 9:10:

“The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.”

The above words were spoken by leaders of Israel after it suffered a limited attack by the Assyrians. On September 12, 2001 Senate majority leader Tom Daschle repeated the above verse from the Bible in trying to comfort the country. On Sept. 11, 2004 John Edwards also read those words. And there have been other leaders to repeat these words.

The limited attack by the Assyrians on Israel was a warning for Israel to turn back to God and to follow his ways. Instead, the message from the Israeli leaders was one of defiance as noted by the above Bible verse. American leaders have essentially followed the same path as Israeli leaders.

Of course, we see the similarities in the fallen bricks and trees. On 9/11 two buildings fell down along with their bricks, and there was a fallen sycamore tree. The new buildings that will replace the fallen ones will contain a 20-ton cut stone, and the fallen sycamore tree was replaced by a cedar tree. The sycamore tree was originally knocked over with its roots exposed. This is a symbol for uprootedness, or ripping out by the roots. That’s what happened to Israel a little later. Look at what could be in-store for America:

Daniel 7:8 “While I was contemplating the horns, behold, another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were pulled out by the roots before it; and behold, this horn possessed eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth uttering great boasts.”

The implication is that America is to be ripped out by the roots along with two others. Could Iran be the little horn? There is something different about Iran because of the religious leadership that makes it unlike any other nation. It easily fits the part about the mouth uttering great boasts, but the eyes are unclear. Generally, eyes refer to the eye of God like that seen on the back of a dollar bill. The eye of God might not apply because the Iranians worship a different God – Allah.

Rabbi Cahn made an interesting observation about the site of the warning attack. It needs to be made at the location of the founding of the nation. New York City was the initial capitol of America. It was located in lower Manhattan. The dedication to God took place at effectively ground zero – St. Paul’s church sitting right at the edge of ground zero.

You can find out more about the harbingers at these two sites:

http://isaiah910.com/message/message.html

9/11 wasn’t just an attack on America. It was an important sign announcing the return of Islam. We also see an important sign about the return of Islam in the second seal of revelations:

“And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.”

“And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.”

This seal says we should watch it open. We can see it open. There is an event that we can see. There are two important words: peace and sword. Ignoring the Bible, if I only told you those two words, then what would you think? Would you think Islam? It is the religion of peace. Please Google for the Sword of Islam and note the number of entries. The Saudi flag contains a sword. The critical event that we needed to see got the attention of the entire world – 9/11. There were two major wars started by the US after this event.

The attack on 9/11, the second seal, is the first sign of impending doom on America.

If the second seal is a warning, then so is the third seal. America is finally destroyed in the fourth seal. Properly understanding the seals requires that one look at the entire set as a whole, and only later interpreting the individual seals. I do that type of analysis in the “The Seals in Context” section, so I am not going to repeat it here.

The key to understanding the third seal is understanding that the balances refer to the scales of justice. The wheat and barley are understood by looking at God’s judgment in Exodus. The barley is destroyed and the wheat survives. The third seal is a judgement on Israel’s neighbors – Israel wipes out its neighbors.

“And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.”

“And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”

You have been weighed and were found lacking. 3/4 will be destroyed and 1/4 will survive. Do not harm Israel.

This most likely refers to Amos 1 and Isaiah 17.

Israel’s destruction of its neighbors, the third seal, is the second sign of impending doom.

Israel’s destruction of Damascus is referred to in Isaiah 17. Isaiah 18 then refers back to Isaiah 17 as a sign.

The third sign of impending doom comes from Isaiah 18. Isaiah 18 warns of impending doom to a powerful friend of Israel. There is a sign that refers to a nuclear event in Isaiah 17. The Shofar is blown. It ends with a seemingly incongruent event – gifts being brought to the new temple on the Temple Mount by the powerful friend of Israel. This last event means that the destruction of America is imminent.

Isaiah 17 [KJV]

17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from [being] a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

– Here we learn that Damascus is destroyed.

17:4 And in that day it shall come to pass, [that] the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.

– The implication here is that Israel is the destroyer of Damascus.

17:13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but [God] shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.

– So the nations are rushing like water at Israel. [They wish to destroy Israel]. God forces them away by destroying their armies.

– Why do the nations feel that they can attack Israel? Where is America? America is not there!

17:14 And behold at eveningtide trouble; [and] before the morning he [is] not. This [is] the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.

– Something happens at evening time. Probably a chemical attack on Israeli cities by Syria. Israel destroys Damascus by morning.

Isaiah 18

1. Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:

– A warning to an unknown land that is far away.
– By the end of this chapter we will learn that this land is a powerful friend of Israel. It is America.

2. That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!

– Providing us with identity information. Many countries could qualify at this point.

3. All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.

– This references Amos 1 and Isaiah 17. When Israel takes the West Bank and plants a flag, then watch out.

4. For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.

– Hints at nuclear war – Amos 1. This is a sign.

5. For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.

– When a process is just about complete, God stops it with a judgment – Amos 1.

6. They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.

– Who cares?

– Amos 1 takes place in the summer. Not much happens through winter. Timing!

– Spring is the season to watch.

7. In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.

– A land is about to get wiped out, who cares about gifts? Timing!

– When a powerful friend of Israel [America] brings gifts to the newly rebuilt Jewish temple on the Temple Mount, then destruction is near.

– Spring is the season. We may learn the very day of destruction when gifts are presented.

Read more about Isaiah 18 at the end of this article.

The third sign of impending doom is represented by America bringing gifts to the new Jewish temple on the Temple Mount.

The fourth seal represents the actual event of America being destroyed.

“When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.”

This is an event that we can see. Notice that famine occurs in this seal. That makes it difficult for famine to occur in the third seal. If you are already in a famine, then how do you start a new famine?

The Seals in context

If you have ever read the seals of Revelations and some of the interpretations, then you get a sense that the seals can be pretty much anything you want them to be. But what would happen if we made a couple of assumptions about the seals as a group? We decided what the group means in general. What a seal means in general. Effectively we decide the context for interpreting all the individual seals.

We can easily find out the major events happening in the end-times from another source – Nebuchadnezzar’s statue. By matching up the seals against these events we can gain critical insight allowing us to avoid calamity.

To get the context we need to go back to the Bible. Let us first go back to Revelations:

Rev. 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

This above verse is pretty important. It means that Revelations gives us clues or signs to avoid death. The focus is on signs. Things don’t just happen. There are signs before big events. And we must watch for those signs.

We can’t come up with some interpretations that are effectively useless because we don’t know how or when to act on them. We must be able to see world events and be able to understand them in relation to the seals.

What exactly makes something a seal? Notice how the seals refer to seeing, as in “come and see”. We can see the seals open. We will know when they open. The whole world will know something has happened but not necessarily that a seal has opened. Take a look at the seals:

“And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.” In this case one could see the event and hear the event.

“Come and see” is used in Seals 1 to 4.

“And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God”

“And I beheld [saw] when he had opened the sixth seal”

“And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.” In this case there is nothing to see. We are told to wait for something.

If we can’t figure out when a seal is opened, then that makes them useless. We have to be able to see the opening.

The opening of a seal in Revelations is like opening the seal of an envelope. It requires a singular violent event. It is not like watching paint dry on the wall. For example, many people think that 9/11 was the opening of the second seal. It was a singular violent event that caught the attention of the entire world. Famine would be like paint drying on a wall, so it cannot represent the opening of a seal. The definition of a seal:

A singular violent event that will catch the attention of the entire world.

When a seal opens you will immediately know it. Seal number 7 is an exception, but it explicitly tells us to wait.

The next constraint is that the seals apply to the end-times: 1. “For the time is at hand” from Rev. 1:3. They cannot be opened over hundreds of years because this would be useless information for people living through the end-times.

If the seals apply to the end-times, then it is not unreasonable to assume that they apply to major end-time events. Nebuchadnezzar’s statue provides some guidance about major end-time events. In Nebuchadnezzar’s statue, the feet contain iron and clay. The toes also contain iron and clay. Most people think the feet represent the rise of the European empire, and the toes the rise of the final empire.

Broadly speaking, this statue covers these events:

a. The rise of the EU. Implicitly the fall of the American empire.

b. The fall of the EU empire

c. The rise of the final 10 part empire.

Now we have a set of guideposts showing us the way during the end-times. I will show how the seals match these guideposts, and additionally provide important clues about impending doom.

[The seals are listed at the end of this section.]

Where are we now?

Quite a few people think that the Second Seal was opened on 9/11/2001. It was a violent act and announced the arrival of Islam. The sword is the Sword of Islam.

3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn argues that 9/11 was a sign to wake up America. If America does not come back to God, then an even bigger judgement is coming:

Messianic rabbi reveals striking parallels between fall of ancient Israel, America

Opening in Pairs

It turns out that most of the seals are opened in pairs: the sign seal and the catastrophic event seal. The sign seal opens with a relatively small event, then quickly thereafter a catastrophic event seal opens. The sign seal tells us that impending disaster is shortly upon us. It is a warning. You will be blessed if you heed this warning. You get to keep your life.

Shortly after the sign seal is opened the catastrophic event seal will open. It is a massive nuclear event killing hundreds of millions.

Why is this true?

The catastrophic event seal opens for a reason. It is the sign seal that acts as a catalyst that enables the catastrophic event seal to open. One causes the other. Watch for the sign seal and you will know of impending disaster.

This pair logic works for seals 3 & 4, 5 & 6, and 7 & 7 (Rev. 8:6+).

Another pair logic is at work too. It signifies the rise and fall of something: Seals 1 & 4, 2& 7, 4 & 6 and 7 & 7.

Seals 1 & 4: Rise and fall of American empire.

Seals 2 & 7: Rise of Islam (and warning to America) and ultimately its fall.

Seals 4 & 6: Implicit rise of European empire and fall of European empire.

Seals 7 & 7: It starts with the rise of the final (Islamic) empire and ends with the fall.

Let’s take a look at how this pair logic works with the Seals.

Seals 3 & 4

The standard interpretation of the third seal is some kind of famine. However, this interpretation violates the meaning of a seal: A singular violent event. Let’s look at a different interpretation:

5And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

6And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

The black horse represents mourning. The balances represent the scales of justice. The meaning of wheat and barley can be found in Exodus where God executes judgement on the Pharaoh. The barley was destroyed and the wheat survived. So one fourth will survive and three-fourths will be destroyed of the people in the region surrounding Israel. Don’t hurt Israel.

We start off with a nuclear event in the Middle East concerning Israel. There is a war involving Israel, where Israel destroys most of its neighbors with nuclear weapons. This is the third seal. It is a catalyst for the opening of the fourth seal. It is also mentioned in Isaiah 17.

7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

It is almost certain that this represents a massive nuclear war. Certainly China will be a part of it due to its large population. That implies that America will be too. Additionally, its hard to believe that China would go to war with America without the help of Russia.

Some people believe that this war is referenced in Isaiah 18. In Isaiah 18 a powerful friend of Israel is warned of impending doom. There is an event (probably Isaiah 17), and we are warned to listen for the Shofar (trumpet) because it is an important sign. Then Isaiah 18 finishes with this powerful friend of Israel bringing gifts for the new temple on the Temple Mount. This suggests that powerful friend of Israel will be wiped out shortly (within a day or two) after the gifts are offered on the Temple Mount.

Seals 5 and 6

9And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

The fifth seal represents a small nuclear event. They must wait a little while until the sixth seal opens so their brethren may die in the same manner that they were. The sixth seal finishes the work of the fifth seal. Since the sixth seal probably represents a nuclear event, the fifth seal must too. Also, the event must be a singular violent event. Cutting off heads of Christians is not going to work.

The fifth seal probably represents nuclear terrorism. The location is not clear, but Rome is probably high on the list. It was targeted because it is an identified headquarters for a large group of Christians. Interestingly, the Prophecy of the Popes tells us that there will be only one more Pope. The final Pope will arrive in 2012 according to the following article:

Revealed! The 60-year old Jesuit codex predicting the arrival of Petrus Romanus in 2012

Petrus Romanus: The Final Pope Is Here

This video explains that the final Pope is almost here. Also, that there will be the destruction of Rome.

You will be blessed if you heed the warning of the fifth seal – flee Europe.

It is also the catalyst for the opening of the sixth seal.

Daniel 7:20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

Daniel 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

I have argued earlier than the little horn is probably Iran. Now we see that it makes war against the saints. Except, war really means warfare – nuclear warfare. First, it is nuclear terrorism on an EU city, and shortly later it is a full on nuclear attack on the entire EU. This little horn, Iran, brings down the saints and the EU.

12And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

If nuclear terrorism did hit Rome, then an investigation would take place. This investigation would lead to the top candidate – Iran. Retaliation on Iran or threats of retaliation would probably be forthcoming. Either Europe or Iran would start this war, but the end result would be the same. Both are wiped out and hundreds of million are dead.

The seal points out that the heaven departed like a scroll. The scroll was rolled together, then it was opened. This seems to suggest an early eye witness to a nuclear mushroom cloud.

With the American empire fallen, and the European empire fallen, then it is time for the rise of the final empire.

Seal 7

The opening of the seventh seal is different from the rest. We are explicitly warned that the violent part will be delayed for a short time. Some important event occurs announcing the arrival of a new empire, but it will not be violent. This is your warning that a massive nuclear war is coming soon.

1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

We are required to wait until Rev. 8:5 to encounter a massive nuclear war.

5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound .

7 The first angel sounded , and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up , and all green grass was burnt up .

The final empire emerges. The entire world will know about this. We are told to wait a short period before a major nuclear war occurs.

You will be blessed if you can flee to safety when you see the final empire emerge.

King James Version: Revelation Chapter 6

1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

King James Version: Revelation Chapter 8

1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.

Is Isaiah 18 About The US?
By Bob Westbrook; Revised April 19, 2005

I’ve been asked more than once if there is any mention of the United States in the prophetic writings of the Bible. While I cannot be certain of this, I believe that a strong circumstantial case can be made that Isaiah 18 is describing the US. I have heard others indicate this as well, and have long had an suspicion that they may be correct. It is only recently that I have examined this short chapter of seven verses in detail.

The broader context of Isaiah 14-17 contains some scenes that may take place in the relatively near future, and the following chapter 19 also contains prophecies not yet fulfilled. Given this context, and the indication that chapter 18 has never been historically fulfilled in any significant manner, I believe Isaiah 18 warrants some serious consideration, especially if it is indeed speaking of the United States.

This chapter is strangely compelling to me, and the Spirit has put a heaviness in my heart concerning it. It is a message of woe to the nation it addresses, but also describes a very favorable role for them in the final verse.

The identification of the nation in this chapter is found in verses 1, 2, and 7, and contains a number of detailed specifications. (Several different Bible translations will be used here). As we examine the specifics, it will become clear that no modern nation fits the description as closely as does the United States, and no ancient nation fulfilled the prophecy.

First, it is a nation of “whirring wings”, “where the sound of wings is heard”, or the “land of clamorous wings”. Given that the military prominence of this nation figures largely later on, we might assume that this is a reference to the sounds of jets and helicopters. No other nation has the fearsome air power of the US.

Next, it is a nation that “lies beyond the rivers of Cush”. This is an area that roughly corresponds to Sudan in Africa. But notice it does not say it is Cush itself, but beyond there. Obviously, in those days, central northern Africa would have seemed like the ends of the earth. So if Isaiah were trying to convey the idea of a land far, far away from where he was, wouldn’t he probably say it’s beyond the farthest area with which he was familiar? Therefore, this prophecy is not about Ethiopia or Sudan or that region, but a nation beyond there.

This nation in question “sends envoys (ambassadors) over the sea” , “shipping emissaries all over the world”. What nation is currently known for sending envoys overseas? The United States. With what political situation are the US diplomats and envoys most involved to an extraordinary degree? It is the Middle East conflict. This corresponds to some crucial details later on in the chapter.

Also, “envoys over the sea” is another indicator that the prophet was not speaking of an area in central Africa, which does not have access to oceans.

To further qualify the nation being addressed, Isaiah then describes its people, its geography, and its power. The people are described as tall and smooth-skinned. Handsome and bronzed are words used in other translations. What image do other parts of the world have of the appearance of Americans, especially from American TV shows piped all over the world? Tall, attractive, smoothed-skinned people. The geography of the land these people live in is “a land divided by rivers”. That also describes the US.

Finally, the military and political might of the nation to which Isaiah is prophesying are described. “A people inspiring awe through out their history”, “a nation that inspired awe since it came into being”, “a strong nation, crushing down its haters”, “feared all over the world”, “a mighty and masterful nation,” “strong and victorious” — could these be describing the world’s sole superpower?

But to me, the clincher regarding the identification of this nation is found in verse 7, the final verse of the chapter.

“At that time gifts will be brought to the LORD of hosts from a people tall and smooth, from a people feared near and far, a nation mighty and conquering, whose land the rivers divide, to Mount Zion, the place of the name of the LORD of hosts.” (Isaiah 18:7 RSV)

After the events described in Isaiah 18 transpire, the people of this nation (presumably US Christians and Jews) will be noted for the gifts they bring to “the place of the name”. This is, of course, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. One can assume these gifts are not designated for the Islamic structures that currently stand there, but for the rebuilding of the Temple after the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa mosque are obliterated. And what nation is better prepared, equipped, and motivated to send monetary gifts and supplies to Mount Zion for rebuilding the Temple than the United States?

Given this strong circumstantial case, we can conclude that no other nation, ancient or modern, fits the description as closely as the United States. But this prophecy is a message of disaster for that nation. The first word of the chapter is “woe”.

A bit of irony is expressed here as well. While saying that this country sends messengers all over the world, Isaiah is telling them “go home, messengers, and give this message of disaster to the country itself”.

“Go back quickly, O representatives, to a nation tall and smooth, to a people causing fear through all their history; a strong nation, crushing down its haters, whose land is cut through by rivers.” (Isaiah 18:2 BBE).

So the messengers are to take a message to that country. But the next verses seem somewhat out of place at first. Perhaps they are there to give us some historical context of when this prophecy will be fulfilled. Whenever it is, globally important events will be taking place:

“All you people of the world, you who live on the earth, when a banner is raised on the mountains, you will see it, and when a trumpet sounds, you will hear it.” (Isaiah 18:3 NIV)

We can surmise that the mountains are the mountains of Israel (the West Bank) and the banner is an Israeli flag. The shofar is blown during battle. Therefore, it is likely whatever is happening to the nation described in this chapter is happening in conjunction with Israel retaking Biblical Judea and Samaria back as their own possession, through a military operation. This would happen once the Palestinians are vanquished and that land becomes part of Israel formally. So, God is telling the world, “when that happens, pay attention.”

The nation that is the primary subject of this chapter, presumably the United States, is at the forefront of the process to create a Palestinian state. We are assured by the prophetic Scriptures that ancestral heartland of Israel, which is the object of contention today, will one day fully belong to Israel, in spite of the world’s efforts to seize it. So verse 3 has a defiant tone to it, addressed at the entire world, that God’s intentions for that land will be accomplished. Israel’s banner will be raised on the mountains of Israel, visible to all.

As we shall see in verse 5, the efforts by others to seize that land will appear to be succeeding for awhile, but just as they is about to come to fruition, God will take dramatic action to put a stop to them.

This is the point where we might begin to get a little nervous, because if this chapter is talking about the US, and if the time of fulfillment is soon, the next verses do not bode well at all.

“This is what the LORD says to me: “I will remain quiet and will look on from my dwelling place, like shimmering heat in the sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.”” (Isaiah 18:4 NIV)

Something spectacular is going to happen, we presume, because the Lord says that he’s just going to sit and watch quietly when it does, giving the appearance of doing nothing about it. The next phrases, I’m sorry to say, sound very much like a description of nuclear explosions. Looking at the Hebrew words used, they seem similar to how someone in those days might have described a nuclear blast: dazzling, shimmering, white heat, a thick cloud. What happens to dew in the heat of a late summer day? It dissipates rapidly when hit by the radiation of the sun.

Is this describing some kind of traumatic event which will effectively put a halt to the so-called “peace process”? Another translation of that verse provides a different view of one aspect of God’s intentions. “I will look after My Place of Foundation.” (Stone Edition Tanach) As God plants His banner and sounds His shofar to confirm His designation of the entire land of Israel to the people of Israel, He takes special care to look after the Temple Mount. Though the world powers, in conjunction with Islam, attempt to keep their grip on the place God founded as the place for His name to dwell forever, they will not succeed.

The JPS translation of verse 4 ends, “like a rain cloud in the heat of reaping time.” The notes of the JPS Bible explain “i.e. like a threat of disaster”. During the harvest period, it is the threat of rain that can turn that process into a failure. That use of the word harvest leads us to the next verse, where the harvest which be aborted is presumably the “land for peace” efforts, propelled by the US, to form a Palestinian state.

For, before the harvest, when the blossom is gone and the flower becomes a ripening grape, he will cut off the shoots with pruning knives, and cut down and take away the spreading branches. (Isaiah 18:5 NIV)

Just before the harvest, just before the process is consummated, God lops off the branches ripe with fruit. If we link this back to the proclamation to the whole world back in verse 3, we deduce the attempts to create a Palestinian state will be approaching ripeness when God severs them. He does this by bringing the “woes” pronounced on the nation that is the object of this prophecy, presumably the United States. The spreading branches he will hew away are the contrivances of the Palestinian Authority to spread into Israel’s land.

(Isaiah 18:6 NIV) They will all be left to the mountain birds of prey and to the wild animals; the birds will feed on them all summer, the wild animals all winter.

After God takes the conclusive, forceful action to terminate the process about to come to fruition, the numerous carcasses of those God has cut down will be devoured by the carrion animals for an extended period.

Even so, the chapter ends on a very positive note, as we mentioned earlier. Could it be that whatever events take place here are also simultaneous to the liberation of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem? Verse 7 seems to imply that.

(Isaiah 18:7 NIV) At that time gifts will be brought to the LORD Almighty from a people tall and smooth-skinned, from a people feared far and wide, an aggressive nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers– the gifts will be brought to Mount Zion, the place of the Name of the LORD Almighty.

The nation that is the focus of this prophecy, once again identified here, will finally play a role of blessing to Israel. That nation will be singled out as the primary contributor of gifts designated for the Temple.

Let’s tie it all together in a what is sure to be a controversial proposition: This prophecy may be speaking of the US, in conjunction with actions taken that will result in an Israeli victory over the Palestinians. As the process to create a Palestinian state appears to be approaching consummation, God takes forceful action to thwart it. Something that for all appearances is a nuclear attack hits the US. This great calamity upon the “land of whirring wings” puts an end to the process.. But afterwards, Christians and Jews in the US will bring gifts to the Temple Mount for the rebuilding of the Temple.

We Are in a Depression | Paul Krugman | New York Times

In 2012 we will be moving into the fifth year of the global economic crisis with no end in sight. When is the last time we’ve seen something like this before? It sure is starting to look like a depression, plus I’m seeing more articles pointing this out.

During the last depression it wasn’t clear that we were in a depression until much later.

It’s time to start calling the current situation what it is: a depression. True, it’s not a full replay of the Great Depression, but that’s cold comfort. Unemployment in both America and Europe remains disastrously high. Leaders and institutions are increasingly discredited. And democratic values are under siege.

On that last point, I am not being alarmist. On the political as on the economic front it’s important not to fall into the “not as bad as” trap. High unemployment isn’t O.K. just because it hasn’t hit 1933 levels; ominous political trends shouldn’t be dismissed just because there’s no Hitler in sight.

‘Dr. Doom’ Fears Another Financial Crisis Is Coming

The economist known as “Dr. Doom” for his 2008 recession prediction says the world may be headed for another financial crisis.

New York University professor Nouriel Roubini said Wednesday that Europe’s debt troubles are so profound that the continent is falling into a “recession that will get worse and worse.”

And a deep recession likely will lead to another financial panic that could spread around the world — an outcome that will be ” very painful,” he said.

Doomsday war games: Pentagon’s 3 nightmare scenarios | CSMonitor.com

Pentagon planners have plenty to deal with these days – Iran in search of nuclear-weapons technology, suicide bombings in Afghanistan, and the final pullout of US troops in Iraq potentially leaving behind a security vacuum in the Middle East. But in war games in Washington this week, US Army officials and their advisers debated three nightmare scenarios in particular. Here are the doomsday visions that Pentagon planners have been poring over:

1. Collapse of Pakistan
2. Rise of militant China
3. Collapse of North Korea
