After 10 years of steady effort, both India and China have made significant qualitative changes in their navies. In terms of submarine capabilities – the construction of SSNs and SSBNs – China is now far ahead of India, however.
China has built two 094 SSBNs and two 093 SSNs, along with JL2 and JL1M submarine-launched ballistic [...]

“U.S. officials are downplaying reports in the New York Times and Washington Post that Pakistan’s A.Q. Khan may have given Iran–and other nations–blueprints for a miniature nuclear warhead first developed for his country’s program.”
Oh really! The same network that provided Iran and North Korea with the technology to enrich uranium has plans for a miniturized [...]

Much has been written about the rise of Chinese nationalism and its implications for the stability of Northeast Asia. But Korean nationalism could prove to be just as destabilizing.

The spread of long-range ballistic missiles took a step forward on May 7 with India’s successful flight test of its Agni-III missile that can carry a nuclear warhead as far as Beijing.
But the difference between this and other missile developments is that India’s missiles — like those of the United States, Britain, France and Israel [...]

Pakistan said it test-fired a short-range cruise missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead Thursday, one day after archrival India test-fired a long-range missile with nuclear capability.
The 220-mile-range Pakistani missile, known as the Ra’ad or Hatf VIII, was developed exclusively for launch from aircraft, a military statement said.

China’s stockpile of intermediate-range ballistic missile nuclear warheads should by no means be ignored. The People’s Liberation Army’s strategy of keeping a balance between its nuclear and conventional capabilities, or focusing on nuclear capability, as a matter of fact refers to these IRBMs and some short-range ballistic missiles.
It can be generally believed that the implementation [...]

China’s stockpile of nuclear warheads has increased sharply, with more DF-31A and JL-2 long-range strategic ballistic missiles entering service, giving it preliminary capability to engage in three-dimensional nuclear strikes upon opponent targets.
The changes in the Chinese nuclear capability started in 1995, before which the People’s Liberation Army Second Artillery Force was often teased as “a [...]
